First you see it, now you don't 8) Massive deep digs I'm guessing from PO freeing off stuck seatpost. Cleaned, welded, turned on a lathe, then finished with scotchbrite

GilM has already done a full decal set for this bike including the race lite one. Previous owner had bought the set and included it with the sale 8) Good shout re contacting Kona HQ.

Good googling!! They didn't show up in my searches on here?! The hic up Apple nod thread is interesting, same '93 decals on the forks. I've not measured the a-c but parked next to my 97 in the same size it's definitely not suspension corrected geometry. Also other mentions of an o-beam post...

Here's the other one: Obviously modernised but "Race lite" sticker is just visible. While this doesn't rule out an LBS build it does at least prove its not just an erroneous owner applied graphic.

Picked this up from here in January. Total bargain, stripped bare and in boxes. I've just got around to a quick dry build before paint (it came with a full GilM decal set) So what do we think? The race lite moniker has been there since its sale in '91 and it apparently came with a few parts...

Re: Re: That's a bummer :( would have been good. I've even finished shining up my old Raleigh burner so could have brought that too. Ho hum. On the plus side it means I can stick the beater wheelset on my Dawes and use it in anger 8)

As promised here's the close ups of the dropout/mech hanger repair. The clear coat finish doesn't match perfectly but you can see that it's straight and the mech threads in ok and lines up straight now. Apart from the difference in finish it's as good as new.
