I was going to side with your friends and say keep the original paint, but I see you have already started :D It should look good with the white paint and silver XT. What are your decal plans?

Here's some pics of my wife's Trek that she has owned since new. I'm not sure of the year maybe '93 or '94? It is all original except for the pedals and front wheel skewer. The tires even have the little molding thingies on them. Spec is pretty much all Alivio with STX rear mech. Dog is KONA.

It may have been an option to have V-stops, but Jones doesn't have the only 1996 Hot with them. There was another post a while ago with questions about the stops on '96 frames but I can't find it right now. Sorry about the cruddy cell phone pic of my beat up '96 Hot.

I agree. It's nice to see a change of pace rather than the, dare I say, "cookie cutter" builds of P2's and XTR M95x. Black Sheep does wonderful work with Ti and that frame is certainly worthy. Maybe throw on a (slightly shorter) Black Sheep stem to tie the front end together? BS handlebars...
