As a person who always looks for the best in people, I will ssume there's a genuine reason. And best case he sent out the bike. As its coming from the US still plenty of time for it to arrive.

I recently bought a 1984 Panasonic dx4000 from ebay. It seems like quite a rare model, with half decent equipment. I was so looking forward to working on it. After many messages to try and get a postage tracking number, the seller has now disappeared from ebay. I will eventually get my money...

A 90/91 61cm 531c Gemini club 600 frame and forks with tricolour headset. No dings or dents however there are scratches and chips to the paint. £50 or £60 posted. I will post more pics if anyone is interested also selling a set of microshift brifters 2x7 in excellent condition £30 posted...

It's Valspar from b+q. Can't remember the name of the blue I will have to check. But yes it looks spot on. I can also recomend this paint for anyone doing a rattle can job. It covers well with a good finish that doesn't look like orange peel.

Re: Re: Your prob right, and it was never meant to be a show bike. Also the wheels will be getting changed when I get my Panasonic. And I really don't like the 600 pedals, the cheap decathalon ones I had on are far more comfortable, so they will also be donated to that.

The bike is nearly there. A good clean and polish, decals oh and the brake levers switching :wink: My only concern is that it isn't a Panasonic. It's not got the pearl white, the blue is just not right and the groupset is too new for the frame. I am now thinking red "Raleigh" decals with...

I didn't realise till a few days ago that Panasonic made bikes. I just thought they sponsored the Raleigh team. Now I own one, although it will be a few weeks before I get it as it needs to come from New Mexico. I'm going to take my time and do a full restoration on this one. It's a 1984...

Thanks for the tip. I'll get my decals before I put the clear coat on, in case I need to change anything. unfortunately I'm going to have to leave it flat white. My washing line booth is not ideal for an even pearl finish.

The clothes line works fine, unless your work needs to hold up to close scrutiny. And as much as I would like to have a finish like Maca's I can't justify the cost, as this is going to be an everyday ride. Also new research shows that tomatoes grow better behind blue tinted glass.

The white base coat is on the frame. I will pick up a can of white pearl tomorrow, then the blue on Tuesday. Finishing off with a clear coat.

I have just aquired a 1984 gran course/competition 12 frame set from another member. As it happens the same member I got my gemini ultegra from. I am planning to swap all the parts over, as the Gemini is just to big and literally becomes a pain to ride after about 40m. The frame needs a paint...
