Ritchey COMP-23 - help request (and paint touchups bla bla)

Sorry for the delay and thanks for the info ! It's a 20 inches. Serial is 1650. Not sure about the year. Sorry for what might be a dumb question but I should be aiming for a 47.5 mm chainline, right ?

Ritchey COMP-23 - help request (and paint touchups bla bla)

Re: Nevermind about the front derailleur’s diameter, my caliper was badly calibrated last time I measured.

Ritchey COMP-23 - help request (and paint touchups bla bla)

Re: Forgot to say that I’m gonna use a M730 crankset. Also, bottom bracket’s and other specs probably are the same as a P-23. So P-2* owners with similar setup might have a clue. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me not buy something that does not fit.

Ritchey COMP-23 - help request (and paint touchups bla bla)

Hi All, I'm having another project that I hopefully can ride next summer. I just couldn't resist a Ritchey Comp-23 frame with Tange Prestige Super tubing. First, I matched the color to do a large number of touchups on the Imrod Red Dupont paint. I used Testors and after about 40 mixes and...

    K2 Comp-1, 1994, conversion to winter weapon

Good luck with your searches. Maybe user "cogtopus" might have some info around here. I've seen that he's posted a picture from a catalog in another topic of the forum. On my side, I really like to torture my Comp-1. The fact that I never tell myself to take great care of it gives me a cool...

Ish... Seems to be rare but I can't really tell you, I'm not super-informed regarding K2's. Does it rides well ?

    Ritchey Comp-23 - REAL ? FAKE ? How Much ?

Hi, (Hopefully I'm in the right place to ask, if not please pardon me.) Recently found this Ritchey Comp-23 and the pictures make it look like it's fake. Can somebody give me some advice ? Serial seems to be 1650 wich seems to make it legit... Also, I'm a bit shocked by the price. Is 425...

    K2 Comp-1, 1994, conversion to winter weapon

One thing: Rapid fire trigger shifters are now really helpful when it come to shifting with gloves. Any suggestion regarding this aspect if welcome. My setup is 3x8 and I intend to keep it that way in order to be able to quickly interchange wheelsets when I need the Ice Spikers and when I need...

    K2 Comp-1, 1994, conversion to winter weapon

The aluminium frame being light, it compensates for the added weight of the tires and stuff. Those Ice Spikers are really worth it (especially if you can find them at 50% like I did). The vintage Deore LX front derailleur is working like a charm and the cheap Acera rear derailleur is working ok...

    K2 Comp-1, 1994, conversion to winter weapon

And the final result with big SKS fenders that needed some trimming, a new steel fork, and a new bottom bracket to finally get the right chainline (this part of the job was quite complicated for me).

    K2 Comp-1, 1994, conversion to winter weapon

Hi all, I have a long-term project of rebuilding a 1993/1994 (not sure) Stumpjumper FSR that I bought more than a year ago. I got inspired from JJWood's "Project black": viewtopic.php?f=6&t=133156 Since only the frame was good to go for this project, I had to start looking for parts and found...

    1993 (?) K2 comp 1 restoration

Hi ! I decided that the frame could be used to build a winter bike even though this frame was considered hi-end by some. Anyway I am starting to have a collection that takes way too much place and the frame did not intended to be purchased by a friend as I had thought. The XTR groupset that was...

Help identifying canadian (?) Ritchey mtb

Re: Thanks anyway. Actually this will be a short keep since the original owner wrote to me asking if he could buy it back. He said he missed it and realized afterward that he cherished his first bike more than the newer one. I offered selling it back for the price I paid (120$ CAD) since I...

Help identifying canadian (?) Ritchey mtb

Hi, I just got this bike and would like to restore it. The initial owner had removed all the decals to prevent stealing. It looks like a canadian Ritchey made by Toyo in Japan and imported to Canada through Rocky Mountain Cycles. The serial underneath the bottom bracket reads "3033". I...
