Well if the serial format matches mine, yours is 08-02-86 - 8 Feb 1986. But I'm just making an educated guess and that date does seem old. The other number on mine is TVT58I, which is 58cm, Italian thread. PS you can upload big images to Imgur, no account required, and link here.

Look on the base of the bottom bracket shell, the date should be stamped there as a part of the serial number.

Well I just tried to put a 130mm wheel in and no way was that going anywhere without a bit of force, so I'm going to assume for now it's 126mm or thereabouts.

BTW I don't suppose anyone can decode the scrawls on the fork steerer tube? Would it be a date, perhaps? 030791? The BB shell serial shows a similar number (I won't reproduce it in full), 130691?

I have my frame now, bought from Ebay for a very reasonable £120 or thereabouts. It's in pretty good condition, hardly any scratches on the lugs, one bit of wear where the rear brake cable has rubbed the headtube. Chipped paint around the lugs (I'm guessing this is just water getting behind...

Could you provide closer photos showing the condition of the front covers? Near a window, low down, sort of thing, to highlight surface scratches etc? I am very interested. I need some Delta brakes for a new build and these might be perfect.

This is a long shot and very random, but I don't suppose you have the tiny plastic inserts that cover the ends of the cables on the downtube gear levers? Guess what bit I'm missing. This is on an old Mercian currently being resprayed.

Hi there, looking for anything c record from the 1988 catalogue, except synchro shifters (which I already have). Anything considered although it must be in excellent condition. Delta brakes (white) and levers also wanted. This is for a complete new build. I also want a 1990 c record rear mech.
