Ya, that's the price of quality these days apparently. I think they are fully rebuildable if that would ease the pain. Fortunately I managed to replace my HPX after a bus ran over my original one after a crash on traintracks.

This. I've run 38mm gravel kings on my Miyata triplecross gravel bike and my Miyata 1000 touring bike. I now have them on my wife's Liv Avail sport bike for gravel riding and bought a new pair of 42mm ones for my carbon gravel bike. Roll well on pavement, confident in the corners and good grip...

Front derailleurs are dumb so I wouldn't look to it for problems. If the spacing is different between rings it will be the front shifter that will cause issues.
