I've actually tried Autosol, and it is better than it looks in the photo, but its still not clean.

Also, if you look at the photo above of the front of the frame, the lower silver rim has started to rust. What can I do about that? if I file it down, will that cause the rust to come back worse? or could I file it down then seal it with something clear? thanks

the masking tape in the photo was there as a marker for when i tried to move it. As I mentioned I have tried to move it using clamps and mallets to no avail. It wont move up, down or turn. Ive read of some people filling the frame with caustic soda, which will melt the alloy but not damage...

That is for the manitou 3/4, will it fit Manitou 2 forks? Its also more expensive than I had hoped. If the spring kit I have posted is no good, should I go for the elastomers then?

that would mean buying both sets, as I can't source them individually. So I need to decide. How pogo stick like are springs? is it worth sticking with elastomers and not having as much travel? I beleive the springs do come with dampers that are placed below them.

I am looking to renew my Manitou 2 forks, and have found new elastomers and Spring conversion kits online, but I'm not sure which to go for. Any advise would be welcome. thanks
