    Just gone into business

Thanks team. I don't want it taking over my life, it'll be a causal affair. If I make £2500 profit a year I'd be indescribably pleased. I'll just be in itmfor the pleasure of building them.

    Just gone into business

My main instrument is bass but I also play mandolin, guitar, double bass / EUB and can make a passable noise on a violin. Theoretically I could play cello to some degree too as I'm familiar with both the tuning and bow, but never had the opportunity to try. My band is on Facebook, Batch22 (no...

Building relic bass guitars. Here's 001, the prototype, a late 60's Precison replica. Were it for sale it would be about £900, which for this sort of thing is a bargain, but I don't have any premises, staff, or overheads beyond material costs, so I can undercut the likes of Limelight...

If you're as well endowed as me you'll then need a schlong guard to keep the old chap out the spokes.

Folders! Foldable bicycles, minivelos and demontables

Ta da! it's free on the train. It's not as smart a fold as something like the Brompton, a class of its own really, but it's good enough and it rides so much better. I've since fitted QR pedals, which makes it even more compact and are nicer to ride with than the folding ones.

Folders! Foldable bicycles, minivelos and demontables

Problem I have is that at nearly 20 stone and 6'5" im either too heavy for most folders, often by a serious margin, or physically too big. Or both. The Brompton feels violently unstable but comes close to managing the weight, whereas the 20" Terns are more stable with my loftiness aboard but...

How should I get a motorbike licence?

You may recall days of yore before common sense existed where you could ride any bike as a learner if it had a sidecar. Cue the Sidewinder, a plastic shower tray with weighed half an ounce and had a wheelbarrow wheel stuck to the side. Most would be 250 owners caught out by the new learner...

    It Begins! Yippee-Ki-Yay, MF...

Yes, we weren't close and I only met him infrequently, usually at family gatherings, but he always took time for a quick chat with me and to slip a fiver to each of my daughters and tell them to buy themselves some sweets. My Mum is the only original Rickman remaining, though she has been...

beef farmers advising lettuce farmers on how to go vegan.!!!!

And the latest. Chris Packham, who drives a 2.5 tonne 3.0 V6 diesel Land Rover, is jolly upset because our new PM hasn't attended the COP talks in person. See, yet again we see thenpeople that moan the loudest about such matters are usually the worst offenders. Next time someone has a pop at...
