Weather ended up being OK, tiny bit of rain on the ride, bit windy in bits, but somehow I ended up with a tan! A very enjoyable day – pleasantly surprised, as I enjoyed last year's so much I was expecting to be left a bit disappointed by this year's.

Rode up there on the Friday – had a look round, back on the Sunday and did the 30 mile route on the Brian Rourke I'd got for the event – I can honestly say it's the best cycling weekend I can remember – such a great friendly atmosphere – and I even got to meet "Sig. Eroica" himself .
