    Raleighracers Marin Bear Valley

Re: Marin Bear Valley Very cool. I find everything to look quite nice but that saddle doesn't seem to fit.

    1990 Gary Fisher CR-7 Evoution

I have this frame, forks, seat post, stem, handlebars and bottom bracket sitting in my living room. It is scratched up and some surface rust has set into some of the scratches. The scratches are all cosmetic in nature...the bike is mechanically sound. Wondering if I should have it repainted or...

I bought a 1990 Gary Fisher CR-7 Evolution yesterday as a complete bike. The frame is scratched up and some surface rust on it but the bike was dangling with all sorts of 7 speed M730/M732 Deore XT parts which should clean up nicely. I scavenged the wheels with RM-17 rims and M730/M732 hubs...

Purchased some xt cantilever brakes. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1993-De ... 7675.l2557 I have to sort out the front fork now for the cantilevers but the build is slowly progressing. Shifters and brake levers should arrive soon. I am not sure about the stem but it is what it is for now.

Yes, yes. I know my rock shox are the bee's knees. I don't want your left one but a large pile of money would do. This is how the bike sits as of today. Might have a lead on a period wheelset locally but we will see how that pans out. The freehub on the rear wheel catches a bit and doesn't...

For a 1996 I am intrigued that the bike is a 7 speed with mostly older components. Not sure if they were replaced at one point or what's up but I am going to use the frame as-is and build it up early 90s. Anyone know what sort of fork replacement would be available? I could get a steel one...

I just realized that the front fork does not have cantilever bosses which means I would have to either use V brakes or disc. Also the front fork using cantilevers bouncing up and down would be unfeasible. Well this is annoying. Either V brakes or new fork.

Neat looking colour scheme. Didn't like the labels or were they falling apart?

Serial 12002. Does this mean it is a 1996?

I took the bike through some relatively unkept trails and roads today as its first 20km jaunt in the city. It has a very nice light frame, shifting is crisp and concise and tracking is on point and nimble. I liked it so much, even on the roads, that I am considering selling my sora equipped...

Re: Looking for XT/XTR cantilevers, XT hub w\Mavic 121, othe Try V3N 5C6 for postage rates. Pics would be appreciated. You don't happen to have a front xt hub would you? Heh one can only hope.

Thanks. The lighting in my home isn't the best so the colours appeared a bit more washed out than they are. I think I've reinjected a few more years into this bike.

Looking for XT/XTR cantilevers, XT hub w\Mavic 121, others

Re: Looking for XT/XTR cantilevers, XT hub w\Mavic 121, othe Hi Vinevo. The flite will sell for sure but with shipping etc I may look for the new route. I am looking for the gunmetal gray 121 rim. How many holes and in what condition? Price + shipping would be nice.

The Marin caught my eye initially when it was posted but I didn't feel the colours were me...when it was reposted a second time I decided to jump on it and got it for quite a nice discount off the original listed price. Of course, in addition I've paid at least twice that in parts but worth it...

Received the bike back. There were a couple details that I missed and I am glad I sent the bike in for an expert opinion at Kinetik Cycles in Coquitlam. Needless to say, it has come back trued, tuned and ready to ride and they did a super job on it. I took it for a spin around the...
