    Bullet Bro's Chain tensioner

I just got one cheap off Ebay after remembering having one on a bike when I was a teenager. :D What are the opinions on them in this day & age? I am planning on sanding this one down though and painting black to match my bike (it's currently a dark blue) I do remember my old one had two...

    £115 uk customs charge!

Phew, thats steep! The only real way around it is to get the person sending it as a cheaper item than it really is..... Is risky for someone you don't know but I have a chap I know in Maine who is happy to send stuff on to me. My $1200 clutch arrived as a $20 cast iron BBQ set. :D

Creaking when peddling with some power

Well, the crank (when refitted recently) appeared to go on smoothly and firmly but I will endeavour to see if its crank movement, or actual BB movement. I am 99% sure there is no play when pushing down on the pedals. Thanks. :)

Creaking when peddling with some power

Have noticed this a bit recently since the 957 went back together. I am sure it is the 14 year old original BB, and I am also using the original crankset I believe. I have felt a tiny amount of play when pulling the crank back and forth. Is there a good chance the play and the creaking is...

Shame I'm not at uni anymore as would be right there. As it is 170 miles is a bit far. :(

Mini clearout - mechs, shifters, cogs "Deore Mega Train

OK - shifters now definitely sold to Konaman. The deore rear mech & the LX mech went on Ebay last night, so the only thing left is the Deore front mech, and the wheels subject to any decision / price offers from people. :)

    Where is your retrobike sticker?

I have just purchased a pair of white ones. Thinking about putting them on the rear swingarm as its bare at the moment, and there is usually a "pro-active" sticker on it as oem (not included with my proflex 957 sticker set) Where are yours? PS: I would have preferred for there to be a...

    Wanted - Pedals

That is pretty good. :) In the short term I have taken my Dad's original pedals off his Marin IFT (I am stripping it down shortly anyway for a refurb) but I would be interested long term in something nice. If you'll take £10 posted, drop me a PM. :D (Always a bit cheeky - and no rush so 2nd...

    Wanted - Pedals

Suitable for my LX crank equipped Proflex 957. Something a little different and non-SPD. I shall be keeping my Shimano DX caged SPDs for this. I don't mind tatty looking as I like a little refurb project, as long as solid running inside, etc. :)

Wanted: Someone who knows rear derailleurs very well-Devon

I can't make that sadly, plus I don't want to force someone to do this in the rain (and they potentially force me to come on the ride as well :D)

Bump - willing to travel a little way for the right experience :D I need the bike A1 for a corporate challenge on Dartmoor this weekend, hence the slight urgency with this thread. :)

    1997 Proflex 957 resto/build thread - FINISHED! wooo

Anyone else think painting the club roost bar black would be a bit much? Need something to break up the black a bit I think. It's why I took the opportunity to get that saddle (although it was free which was a bonus :D)

    one for the car geeks

I imagine quite a few fabias (approx 10,000 vRS according to that website) left on the road, but not many like mine. :D

Wanted: Someone who knows rear derailleurs very well-Devon

Shall print that out for a good read. Still hoping someone who has this knowledge can help me, as I would sooner fork out for a 12 pack of beers than ingest masses (Says he studying for an advanced driving test at the moment.... :D)

Wanted: Someone who knows rear derailleurs very well-Devon

Will compensate with alcohol :D My local BS has just had a go and said it was all done, but I don't believe it is setup right. Rather than take it back for another mash-up any chance someone local to Exmouth/Exeter in Devon can take a look for me. Will compensate a well set up rear...

    1997 Proflex 957 resto/build thread - FINISHED! wooo

Well, it's finished (pretty much) - Just the rear gears to sort out after the local BS looks to have not got them right.... Here's some pics. Would welcome any change recommendations going forward (anyone else thinking "black bottle cage"?). I am going to be refurbing/repainting the pedals...
