For Sale 1999 Stumpjumper M2 Pro Frame 18"

1999 Stumpjumper M2 Pro frame. This is the later version with the direct MAX drive chain stays and will come with the headset and seat post. In great overall condition; I picked this up last summer as a complete bike from a guy who'd owned it since new! Only selling as it's too small for me and...

Thanks! All the bits on it came straight off the 1999 stumpy M2 pro I had which I believe was mostly stock.

Stumpjumper M2 1998 onwards: Frame differences

OK, I checked and it's not the XX butted version that I have...must be a 1998 then! Bang goes the S Works dream! Pic attached.

Stumpjumper M2 1998 onwards: Frame differences

According to the 1997 catalogue the S Works M2 was the only version available in Mango. Not sure about 1998 onwards, I believe the mango colour was available on other versions so it could well be a 1998 frame. I guess I'm just hopeful it's actually an S works!

Stumpjumper M2 1998 onwards: Frame differences

I stumbled across a 1997 catalogue on this site and I'm now wondering if this frame is actually the S works version? Fits the specs in the catalogue: Mango, M2 XX. Could also explain the geometry difference.

Stumpjumper M2 1998 onwards: Frame differences

Hello, can anyone school me on the various changes to the M2 frame from inception until it's demise? I realised when I picked up a 20.5" mango frame off ebay recently that it was different to the 18" 1999 Stumpjumper Pro frame which I already had. The chain stays on the 98 frame are different...

    Crank help - compatibility issues?

thanks, what size ring do you think would be good for everyday town use? I tend to use just the middle ring on my current set up.

    Crank help - compatibility issues?

another question...as I use this bike just to cycle to the station and around the city I'm thinking that perhaps I don't need 3 rings at the front. Any suggestions for what I could buy to fix the gear at the front?

    Crank help - compatibility issues?

Thanks for all the replies so far. I'm thinking that I'd rather just replace the chainset as it sounds like a hassle to replace the outer ring! Can anyone recommend a chainset that will work with an 8spd set up? Or will anything work? Apologies if this question sounds dumb, I just haven't bought...

    Crank help - compatibility issues?

It seems to be on both the middle and outer ring. Will check. I'm sure that this crank set has an outer ring which is attached to the spider so it makes replacing the rings a little tricky.

    Crank help - compatibility issues?

Hi, I'm having a chain suck issue after replacing the chain and cassette on my old rockhopper so I'm thinking that I need a new crank set. It currently has an old XT crank set, like this one: viewtopic.php?t=156540 But I think the teeth are worn out hence the chain suck, anyway, I put on a...

Is this a Specialized stumpjumper?? Now with frame number

I was watching this auction and considered bidding but wasn't convinced it was actually a specialized. At least it was cheap though huh? Surely there is some value in the parts if broken.

Specialized Strong arm Crank - FUBAR?

Hi, so I'm trying to fix up my old rockhopper from circa 1998 (I don't think it's ever been serviced!) It needs a new bottom bracket but I have managed to strip the threads trying to get off the crank. If I can get the crank off is it worth trying to save these cranks? Or should I just bin...
