Can anyone recommend a good and reasonably priced powdercoaters in the Ipswich area? Have got quotes from a couple but they seem a bit steep for a rigid frame and forks, both companies quoting around the £75 mark! Does that seem a lot to you guys or am I just getting tight in my old age ;)...

What is the best over the counter product for removing paint? Want to strip back my bars and stem to bare metal so I'm able to do a decent respray. Thanks in advance ;)

My current seat post is 26.4mm diameter. I was wondering if I could get away with a 26.2mm diameter post and clamp up a little tighter? Thoughts please. Cheers peeps

This is aimed at I Beleieve In Fixies - Just so i'm 100% clear, it's the length of the steerer tube minus the headtube length = headset stack height. Should i be measuring the steerer tube length from the crown race as the original is still on the forks? Cheers

Hi everyone. Need to know if the headset stack height is important for a threaded headset on my 1989 Saracen Tufftrax? Need a new one for my restoration project but currently has threadless and a-head stem :oops: , which I'm removing and going back to the original forks and quill stem...

Cheers Toolmaker, unfortunately missed out on 3 NOS sets on the Bay at the weekend! One was pink (the original colour of my set), one green and one hi vis yellow! Gutted :cry: Would be interested if the price is right :wink: Dont work too hard!

Cheers Toolmaker, what colour are they, might be interested in taking them off your hands? Mine were originally flouro pink with black decals, but I'm thinkinking of going black with white decals.

Yep, my first mtb too.......still have it, and full restoration is planned for the very near future. Still have most of the original parts and most are in absolutely superb condition, so looking forward to my first retrobike build.
