    For real? I don't see klunkers flying off the assembly lines in china and taiwan for Trek, Specialized, Giant, etc. Sure klunkers were a beginning for off roading but they were already at an evolutionary dead-end when they were briefly resurrected for that purpose.

    Its fine that you can't see the difference in the downtube or the cable stops. Just don't tell others that they're the same. On the subject of catalogues: I think most will agree that catalogues differ in some degree from the actual product lines sold.

    Correct. Its fairly common knowledge that there are very few "actual" 1996 Adroits. Most of them are Attitude frames painted as Adroits. All part of or a result of the Trek buyout the previous year.
