    hi there, think it is a 19", though if you go on the geometry given in the original 1991 brochure (which I still have), it doesn't correspond to any of the frame sizes quoted... i've added a couple of pics of rear brake / stem arrangement which i hope will shed some light on what i'm trying...

    Right, pulled the old stem and it's stamped 25.4, so I guess that makes it a 1&1/8" steerer. Had thought about getting a quill to a-head adaptor, and then getting a decent quality 80-100mm riser stem, but after doing some more research, I came across a quill stem called a Syncros Cattleprod...

    thanks for reply, but wouldn't 22.2 be about 7/8" and 25.4 be 1"??? If it is a 1&1/8" shouldn't it be stamped 28.5 or thereabouts??? Cheers BB

    ok, for a relative numpty such as myself (gears & brakes are my current limit...) is there an easy way of telling if this is a 1 & 1/8" impact without having to pull it apart?
