Random but what cables and housing should i be getting for my orange to build it. The old housing was really heavy which i never realised until i took it off. is there anything super light i can get? Both for brakes and shifters?

Re: I've seen the thread on here with replacement elastomers. Do they need some other part other than those blocks? The picture on the first page of that thread seems to have some skewer and end pieces going through the bits. My fork is exactly the same but the tubes are empty?..

is there anywhere I can get these original decals still? Like exactly the same ones? I'm getting this bike up and running now, and was thinking about getting it properly resprayed as per original. But only If I can get the same stickers...

Re: I'm pretty crap at doing this stuff tbh. My main need is to replace the grip shifters as they actually are broken. Split plastic falling off. What should I get? The brakes were probably the ones with the single Central wire that sat in the small lug on the frame. I'm confused is this v brakes?

Re: thanks for the link thats exactly what I need, do you have one for the levers too? and the groupset?. cant quite work out which bit was original and which is added later. The guy I got it from way back had messed around with the front bit and it didnt quite match or change smoothly ever...

Re: Yes every bike shop so far has just tried to sell me a new one lol. I need to find the old caliper brakes that use the lug on the frame. The front bit and the rear bit don't match so changing gear was always very dicey I remember with this set up. I would like to get the right kit.

Re: Cool thanks guys! Yes the paint certainly has faded in places and is also flaking in places. But I don't really mind too much most of it is fine. Could someone give me a list of stuff that's I'd need, groupset and the grip gear shifters, and the brakes that are appropriate? Where do I find...

Re: I'm not really looking to sell it unless it's worth something, which 150 etc isn't to me. Does anyone know what original groupset toys would have had and all the other bits to get it sorted out? And how much that would cost? I actually know nothing about bikes ...!

Hi. Got my old orange bike out of the garage after years. Two questions. A/Is it worth anything? B/ is it worth getting it roadworthy again, was thinking maybe disc brakes, gear shifter is broken. Where would I go in Sussex to find anyone who can get this up to speed again?
