Thanks for the replies guys. I'll try with grease and see how I get on. Torque settings are useful - I normally just go with b*stard tight, but a little accuracy won't go amiss!

I've got a set of AC forged cranks that I love, but they're creaking and it's really starting to wind me up! I think its due to movement between the crank and the spider but no matter how tight I get the lock ring they still creak under load. Is there anything I can do about it?

Top quality necroposting gentlemen! That particular frame was sold in 2008. Since then I've had a Trailstar, a Klein Pulse Pro, an Inbred and finally a Klein Adroit Race.

I'm after a one pair of brakes. Just the brakes and noodles (decent pads would be handy) - no levers required. Condition isn't that important, though I'd rather they weren't completely trashed! Matt
