Sorry to hear you've been ripped off. :-( Was it a re-sprayed all over white one?? That guy was on Gumtree for a while and got black flagged on here.

    2000 Klein Mantra Carbon - 96er

You're 100% right.. Never was a DH bike and no mater what we throw at it will it ever be, just a fantastic fully floating XC'er - I used to do endurance events in the English Lake District and never was as fresh at the end of 6/12/24 hrs as I was after I got that bike. ;-)

    2000 Klein Mantra Carbon - 96er

The DUC32's are switchable 4 or 6 inch and the back is standard 5.5 inch... TBH I've not ridden it yet as I've no drivetrain yet!  For my daughter It'll be set the front at 4inch front and the back will be around 3. If she let's me ride it I'll let you know how it goes.

    2000 Klein Mantra Carbon - 96er

Klein did sell a Mantra with triple clamp Manitou (Xvert?) forks - think it was called the Race 'LT', even had a Hayes front disk.. not sure of the year, but it's in one of the scanned Klein docs. ;-)

    2000 Klein Mantra Carbon - 96er

Agreed, Mine will have the front end dropped to the 4inch travel setting and as Meg's legs aren't as long as mine ( and she weighs just over half of me ) I'll sort out a short ( eye 2 eye ) shock with a soft spring to bring the BB down... I had thought of fitting some rigid forks to keep the...

    2000 Klein Mantra Carbon - 96er

Yep, had my Mantra since the late '90s and found keeping my bottom on the seat stops the rear shock 'un-loading' when weight is shifted forward whilst going dh with the front brake on.. more to do with the long swing of the URT (+ placement of pivot/shock/rider) than the angle of the forks...

Could I ask what size frame that is?? You've got a layback post a long way out, so I guess you're a tall chap....

    KLEIN Mantra BB cable routing

Yep that'd fix it. And you'll have a bike made up of three dissimilar bikes, from a bloke who is telling porkies to flog a bunch of spare parts.. Wait and get a proper one.

    KLEIN Mantra BB cable routing

The front end is much older than the rear triangle... (backend is off a Y2k carbon like Gil_M's single speed, front looks pre-'97). And the shock needs to be longer to get the angles correct...
