I have serviced many Manitou SX forks, now bad news for you the adjusters were rubbish. Now, they have a TPC in one side which works well, it could be that the o rings have perished, but most likely years of grime stopping them working. A good service would sort, I can still service them...

That sounds like you could have a small amount of moisture in the lower legs, mix it with grease and voila, a good clean fresh grease, suspension specific, and check the TPC while your there, that may need an oil change :D

I'm a big fan of the KMC X* chains, very good shifting and no breakages :)

Check the freehub body, more than likely be the source of the problem.

That's a titanium frame, a few similarities with many other ti frames I have worked on, the dropouts are a giveaway, and screw in brake bosses, bottom bracket, very nice bikes too.

The XTR 952 came in 2 sizes, short and long, it will work with your 10spd STI's, I'm not so sure how well a short cage will perform with those ratios, more than likely it will be ok, you will need to check the chain on the jockey wheels, which should be ok If its a 10spd 105 I would be incline...

Are they ti skewers? they look it. there was a few versions produced in the far east that I've seen, but I only remember Odyssey doing a ti version.

That's how they used to come, no lock-rings, If I remember rightly the cups were tapered and so was the shell, they didn't come loose, although a couple we fitted with loctite :)

Tazio, I think your right, they are Z5's, although there is not much difference between them, on further inspection, they are not adjustable, so that's what makes them Z5's :)
