Iv just picked up a really nice frameset, original kinesis carbon forks and easton seatpost. Not really sure what my plans for it are, possibly a retro tt build? By all accounts these are fairly rare, it looks awesome in real life. Very stealth bomber looking tube profiles. Think its a '99 but...

Re: Even cheap Ti is still relatively expensive so the way I see it is if they are going to the effort of using the material in the first place its in their interest to do a decent job. Steel by comparison is pennies any anyone can join it together, Titanium is a bit different. My gut feeling...

I would love to know what seatpost required saving that much? Also im fairly confident that without the precision of a surgeon then the 'precious' seatpost may of copped a scratch or two during the delicate angle grinder surgery to remove it.

Re: I would carefully check any oil's or greases you used too. Some fork oils have seal expanders in which are no good for mtb suspension. If you used grease check it wasn't petroleum based as this will make the rubber seals go sticky and make the forks feel rubbish.

Re: Iv got 785 on 2 bikes and both have had freehub issues, one just locked solid and one split along one of the splines. My LBS said there was a new part number for the freehubs to fit those hubs indicating they have updated them in some way, not had any issues since but it might be too soon...
