Giro d'Italia Attack of the Frome

Re: People moan about "boring" Sky controlling everything and then moan when Froome attacks and puts on an awesome show for the fans (and about how he looks on the bike of all things ) I mean, where is it written that you need to look a certain way and ride a certain way. Cycling...

How to overhaul these '91 flat pedals?

Re: A lot of SPD pedals have no access from the outer end of the pedal with the axle secured by a threaded collar at the crank side. Yours look like the same setup from what is visible in the pics.

How to overhaul these '91 flat pedals?

Re: They look like almost exact copies of XT M731 Comp pedals from the same era. It looks like you can fit a cone spanner on the end near the cranks and possibly unscrew the axle from the pedal body (probably need to clamp the pedal in a vice to do this) then you should have access to the...

    MacRetro chat and rides thread

Re: Re: Here you go, they're 5 bolt 110BCD (check out Sheldon Brown link below if you're not sure what you need) and 24/36/46. I could do them £25 posted. http://www.sheldonbrown.com/cribsheet-bcd.html

Re: Re: What's the bolt pattern and is it triple or double? TA chainrings are what I usually go for, seem to be a good balance of price, quality and performance. I've got a NOS triple set that came off an XC Pro chainset that I can dig out if they're of interest.

Re: Glad to see this frame built up and going to be used, wasn't going to get much use with me  . You've built a really nice bike there, very nicely judged selection of components to create a bike that looks great 8) .

    My early 1990's Raleigh Serengeti

Re: I'm guessing this was a Raleigh USA model, the UK bikes used Reynolds tubing pretty much exclusively (I can't remember Tange tubing being used in the UK at least).

Any knowledgeable RALEIGH DYNA-TECH guys in here??

Re: The 625Ti road bike in the 93 catalogue has the exact same paint job as yours. The cable stops certainly look the same as the 93 Ogre bikes and the fact there are no mudguard/rack eyelets on the dropouts would suggest it is an MT4 rather than MT3 frame. Raleigh would occasionally bring out...

Any knowledgeable RALEIGH DYNA-TECH guys in here??

Re: I'm sure I've seen a Diablo in that colour scheme before, It's definitely not a 92 though. The 92 Ogre was a similar colour right enough but lighter colour and pattern on the three main tubes, see mine below. I'd guess its around 93/94 but can't be sure.

    Raleigh Aztec info

Re: These were bog standard 18-23 steel not 501 and fairly low in the range with a shimano tourney groupset. Unless it's cheap or holds some nostalgic significance to you I wouldn't bother. The bike is in the 91 Raleigh catalogue in the archive if you want more info.

    WTD XT M730 or M732 Canti's (Sorted)

After a full bike's worth of M730 or M732 cantilever brakes in good condition. Silver ideally but would consider black if the price is right.

A bargain - Quick get it bought...

The mirage has 501 tubing not K2 btw. Way overpriced, even with the few "upgraded" parts it has. I bought an 89 Raleigh Mirage a few years ago which was more original than this one for £30!
