Raleigh Dyna Tech appreciation and information thread

Re: Re: They're completely different frames. The Adrian Timmis bike is a metal matrix and Ti tubed bike from 92-93 and Adrian's one is an all steel bike from the first year of Dynatech production in 1990.

Re: What tubing is the frame made from Clubby? They didn't get an old batch of tubes from Chris Chance did they? strange for a modern frame to fail like that though.

    Kona Cinder Cone £1100

There's also the small matter of Kona being formed in 1988, therefore there are no 1987 Cindercones around. But definitely 1990 and not all that rare as he's claiming, certainly not £1100 worth of rare!

    Kona Cinder Cone £1100

Re: Well for one, that's a 1990 model. The BS some folk write in eBay ads is quite embarrassing at times, however it's not clear if the seller is just misinformed or trying to pull a fast one. Given the asking price I suspect the latter though, truly shameful imo. I bought one a couple years...

1990-93 Dynatech MTB in Team Colours

No problem. They changed things in 91 to make the Dyna-Tech branding more prominent, rather than having the large Raleigh decal on the downtube. I prefer the 90 decals to the later years tbh. I think they were trying to get away from the traditional image of the solid dependable (but maybe not...

1990-93 Dynatech MTB in Team Colours

It's definitely from 1990 and was called the "Team" as far as I remember. Same frame as my Mission and the Odyssey but full XC Pro. We had one as the shop bike when I worked at the Hawick Cycle Centre as a lad.

    Sachs brakes (SORTED THANKS)

Re: Sachs brakes I've got a few Neos bits too I've been slowly acquiring. I plan on building a couple bikes with Sachs groupsets one day. Just need to keep looking as the parts you're after will pop up eventually.

    Sachs brakes (SORTED THANKS)

Re: Sachs brakes They're rarer than hens teeth but there's not the same demand as for other groupsets. Took me nearly two years to amass a full Quarz groupset, some bargains and some not so much lol.

    Raleigh summit

They had a Titanium handlebar, that was the only Ti bit on them. There was a large "Titanium" decal in the bars so think that's why folks get confused. Definitely not a grand new either, nearer the £500 mark, he may be thinking of the Quantum which was £999 iirc and had a similar spec but a MT3...

Re: It'll be a 68mm shell but the axle length will depend on the chainset You're using. Take a look at Sheldon Brown's website for a guide to axle lengths for common chainsets.

    Orange (Formula?) Poole

Re: I'd say almost certainly a Formula. Someone please buy this and take that rack and lock off this A.S.A.P., they're making me wince looking at them on that bike! Pretty terrible pictures unfortunately to get a good look at it.
