Cassette tool for maillard hub help please

Can you post a pic of the freewheel? There are different types of Maillard wheel and reading what you wrote again it may not even be a Maillard freewheel since you mention hub. I cannot recall exactly what Raleigh fitted but I am thinking 5 SPF atom

How do I free up caliper brakes

Check whether it is the cable or the caliper first - loosen the cable pinch bolt and lube the cable. Then squeeze the caliper shut by hand. If it binds you need to pull it apart to free up the mechanism and lube it.

The first ones or the last ones were the right level for the bike. The Spidel ones are the high end Maillard pedal with the replaceable rear plate - they were from the top range Peugeots back in the day. Here's a lnk ot the Ofmega pedal - similar design but different execution...

Cassette tool for maillard hub help please

Take it to a decent shop and ask them to remove it. Most shops with a decent workshop will have a load of freewheel removers dating back - just make sure they know that it is a freewheel and not a cassette

Looking at the brochure pics and specs the chain set is the same as the one on the PSV10 = Stronglight 103. At first I thought Maillard for pedals but I remember them having black plastic Ofmega pedals back in the day, something corroborated by other pics. I guess Peugeot used what they had to...

I think your chain set has been changed. It should be a Nervar or else an older Stronglight but with a one piece cast spider. The pedals were Ofmega Sintessi aero platforms originally I think. Real nice Centenary edition none the less.

    Best MA Rim???

Frankly any of them will function as well as the other. The MA40 has the dark anodizing which was more fashionable in the late 80's but they all build up the same and are really just as strong as each other. Braking on the MA2 should also be better since there is no slippery smooth coating to...

    Need help

Hi I need some help to find some forks for a Gitane race bike. I'm unsure of the model of Gitane but it has Vitus frame ends and is in the Fignon blue color with an internal brake routing and number hanger. It looks like a nice frame and was an impulse buy (I always wanted a Gitane as a junior)...
