    Highlander bike??? Fillet brazed frame

Btw, the way the paint is performed gives the appearance of a series of H. Maybe reminders of Highlander. It might also be a coincidence ;)

    Highlander bike??? Fillet brazed frame

The Flite is indeed to skinny. It was just to not see the bike with its replacement saddle looking like a beat-up mini sofa. Avocet racing are great but I do not have that for now. This wishbone has an interesting design in order to merge the 3 tubes:

    Highlander bike??? Fillet brazed frame

I agree. The fillet brazed is very clean. Some tubes are oval. The cable path shows details that add complexity. And maybe the style of the seat tube would ring the bell for someone as it's a non commom design.

    Highlander bike??? Fillet brazed frame

Indeed. Finding the origin of the bike was the goal of this thread. The bike has been assembled in France. But I don't know if the frame set is french.

    Highlander bike??? Fillet brazed frame

Brooks are indeed a good choice, but not the style I'm looking for. My go to saddle is Avocet O2 Air 40R Titanium. But for this build I want to stay in the late 80s options.

    Highlander bike??? Fillet brazed frame

Pictures found on internet The Cinelli unicanitor The Kashimax GTV Two very different styles. The Unicanitor is minimalist and well known for boosting the trend of plastic based saddle. The Kashimax is the comfort made in Japan. Writing this, I realize the Turbo is a good in between.

Too bad, we cannot add a voting system to elect the right saddle. But please share your view on that ;)

Indeed. Even with the Python tires in 2.25, I still have a good margin. Later, I might choose tires with tanwalls.

    Highlander bike??? Fillet brazed frame

I have added a Flite for now. But I might choose a Cinelli unicanitor, a Turbo or a Kashimax GTV. Don't know yet 🤔

    Highlander bike??? Fillet brazed frame

Hi, Here is my new bike, pictured as bought. The brand seems to be "Highlander". Is anyone knows this brand? It might also be the model, like Raleigh did.

Saddle comfort - Turbo vs Unicanitor

Thank you and good point again. The trend was clearly not pointing toward this saddle. Turbo, then Flite might be the classic go to (btw, my favorite for a 90s MTB is the Avocet O2 Air 40R: very light and comfy). But some high end bikes were using the Unicanitor. I think it's the same in...

Good point. Thank you for sharing information. That's why I might go for a plastic one. Any comment on the saddle on the pictures?

Saddle comfort - Turbo vs Unicanitor

Thanks. I have found an old one in France, all plastic. They seemed to be quite common on Charlie Cunningham and Steve Potts' mtbs.
