WANTED - Retro Atala front forks (Circa 1987/88)

Hi all, I own a 1987/88 Atala Road Bike (tripple world champ edition) and I recently had the bars break on me which sent me flying face first into the pavement. Apart from all the reconstructive work to my face, tongue and teeth, I now want to try and re-build my Atala back to it's original...

Retro 80's Atala Restoration - Australia

Yes - mine has a chrome fork and Columbus tubing stickers as well as a tripple world champ crown decal. It reads 82-83, 83-84, 85-86 so I'm assuming mine is approx an 87 model. I have seen the one on e-bay so I'm stoked it's worth that much. I paid $14 for mine! Been riding it for a week now...

Atala, World Champ & Columbus Decals Wanted

This Columbus decal (in green) is also proving very hard to locate. Cyclomondo on ebay does not have these or any of the others on my post so I need to go further abroad than e-bay I think!!!

Atala, World Champ & Columbus Decals Wanted

Hi All, I'm after replica decals of the following pics in order for me to do a restoration job on my Atala. If you know where I can get them or if you have any yourself, please notify me and I will get in touch with you. The front emblem and the world champ are the two I'm really...

    Campione del Mondo Decal

It strikes me though that this is a decent, modest little bike in what looks like reasonable condition and original paint - perhaps a better candidate for an everyday retro rider than a full-bling C-Record restoration. Your call, of course. These pics are fantastic. I've looked at them all...

Campagnolo Derailleur - Any ideas what model or vintage??

Thanks again. I'm now contemplating saving my coins and buying super record in order to deck my bike out similar in quality to my current ride (which has 2008 Record on it - see pic). It just means I need to convert all of the old Shimano 600 and Campy 990 over to a standard C-Record or...

Campagnolo Derailleur - Any ideas what model or vintage??

By the looks of that picture - it is very similar to mine indeed. That also falls in line very closely to the year of manufacture of my frame. Thanks for the info and the link. Do you have an opinion on the quality of the 990 at all? I've not ridden the bike more than about 10mtrs. :)

Campagnolo Derailleur - Any ideas what model or vintage??

YES!!! It's a 980 for sure. It appears these were released in the 1980's so it's quite possible my Atala is made up of many non-original parts for a 1987 model. Thanks for the posts. Much appreciated.

Campagnolo Derailleur - Any ideas what model or vintage??

Thanks for that... I just googled both of those and neither look like my derailleur. Those ones seem to have a campy emblem on them rather than the "word" campagnolo in scrolled text. Having said that, the release of both of those does fall in line with my Atala being about the '87 mark...

    Campione del Mondo Decal

Hi all, does anyone know why this decal would be on my Italian built Atala frame? As far as I can tell (based on my internet searches), is that it should only appear on Bianchis - which mine is obviously not.... Also, decals like these are incredibly hard to find as "replacement items" so is...

Campagnolo Derailleur - Any ideas what model or vintage??

Can anyone tell me the model and approximate vintage of this old Campagnolo derailleur? It has come off a late 1980's Atala frame but I cant be sure how old the actual components are. Please see the attachment. Cheers

Retro 80's Atala Restoration - Australia

Thanks - I went to that site previously but there isnt much on Atala's in there at all. I am now thinking of e-mailing Atala themselves in Italy to find out if anyopne there knows the model and approx value of my machine. Retro 80's Atala Restoration - Australia

Can anyone tell me where to find old frame pictures of my Atala to ensure I keep with the original painting and patterns? Is there such a thing as a guidebook out there on these bike frames. I've googled but cant seem to find anything. Sorry - bit of a novice at this retro restore work!!

Retro 80's Atala Restoration - Australia

Thanks for the info - I will contact the Coffs Hbr gentleman as soon as I can to see if he can obtain the decals. In regards to the tubing. There are Columbus stickers on the forks and in the down tube which say "Accacio Speciale" (sorry about the spelling - I hope I got that correct? Also -...

Retro 80's Atala Restoration - Australia

Hi Guy's and Gals, Can anyone out there advise me of any company or person who makes decals for my Italian "Atala" retro road bike? I intend to strip it down and get it blasted, re-chromed, re-painted and generally cleaned up. The current bike has been hanging in my mate's shed for over 14yrs...
