Yes - mine has a chrome fork and Columbus tubing stickers as well as a tripple world champ crown decal. It reads 82-83, 83-84, 85-86 so I'm assuming mine is approx an 87 model. I have seen the one on e-bay so I'm stoked it's worth that much. I paid $14 for mine! Been riding it for a week now...

This Columbus decal (in green) is also proving very hard to locate. Cyclomondo on ebay does not have these or any of the others on my post so I need to go further abroad than e-bay I think!!!

It strikes me though that this is a decent, modest little bike in what looks like reasonable condition and original paint - perhaps a better candidate for an everyday retro rider than a full-bling C-Record restoration. Your call, of course. These pics are fantastic. I've looked at them all...

By the looks of that picture - it is very similar to mine indeed. That also falls in line very closely to the year of manufacture of my frame. Thanks for the info and the link. Do you have an opinion on the quality of the 990 at all? I've not ridden the bike more than about 10mtrs. :)

YES!!! It's a 980 for sure. It appears these were released in the 1980's so it's quite possible my Atala is made up of many non-original parts for a 1987 model. Thanks for the posts. Much appreciated.

Thanks for that... I just googled both of those and neither look like my derailleur. Those ones seem to have a campy emblem on them rather than the "word" campagnolo in scrolled text. Having said that, the release of both of those does fall in line with my Atala being about the '87 mark...

Can anyone tell me the model and approximate vintage of this old Campagnolo derailleur? It has come off a late 1980's Atala frame but I cant be sure how old the actual components are. Please see the attachment. Cheers

Thanks - I went to that site previously but there isnt much on Atala's in there at all. I am now thinking of e-mailing Atala themselves in Italy to find out if anyopne there knows the model and approx value of my machine. It will make a big difference as to if I strip it and re-build it or sell...

Can anyone tell me where to find old frame pictures of my Atala to ensure I keep with the original painting and patterns? Is there such a thing as a guidebook out there on these bike frames. I've googled but cant seem to find anything. Sorry - bit of a novice at this retro restore work!!
