    90s Harry Quinn refresh

In fairness to the frame, the bike had done loads of hard miles on rough tough roads; as Chris says, it was raced for quite a few seasons in the mid 90s, and was also used for time trialling and general riding/training. I'm actually astonished nothing let go before the tube fractured last...

    90s Harry Quinn refresh

Cheers Chris; whilst I'd naturally like to claim it was bestial torque from upper-body force applied on climbs, I suspect it was just a stress failure at the cable stop brazings. Probably too much heat when it was made... tube fractured full dia right through that area. Oh, I also split the...

    90s Harry Quinn refresh

Ok, been seen on here before but after breaking the frame, just had a new down tube inserted and a lovely smokey candy red/black repaint by Neill at Atlantic Boulevard, so now back in service with some shiny new campag bits (and some polished old shimano ones)... 10 speed Veloce levers will...

Repair to 653 frame (broken down tube)

Gutted as I managed to break the down tube on my late model Harry Quinn 653 this eve... has fractured full circumference right where the cable stops mount. Imagine a new tube can be popped in by someone suitably skilled - suggestions please for that craftsman. And for the resulting re-finish...

WTD - Dura Ace downtube shifter (left side)

Just looking for a single left hand braze fit shifter as I want to add a second chain ring to my lo-pro (yeah yeah, I know)... Alternatively a pair of Chorus levers woud do. Thanks

    Old skool Basso lo-pro

I really don't know TBH, the frame came to me with little info... I was simply wanting something a little more single minded than my road bike for short club TTs and a dealer/frame builder mate had just put it through his painters. I probably only used it a dozen times but it proved effective...

    Old skool Basso lo-pro

Nearly right; was an MGB with a big exhaust and a brace of blowers to complete the illusion. Passed you on Tues night... you looked like you were suffering; found that quite cheering! Any decent roadraces on locally in the next few weeks?

    Old skool Basso lo-pro

Hey Chris, how's it going? I remember the reason the rig went in the loft.... having a minute taken out of me round the valley by a guy on a mountain bike with mudguards! lol

    Old skool Basso lo-pro

Just dragged out the loft, where it's been hiding for 10 years... might use for a couple of charidee rides in the summer. Should scare some folk to death with the disk rattle and gear clunks :)

Anyone into old school lo-pro TT tackle here?

Liking these :) Keep them coming... can feel another journey into the loft coming on!

Let's see those retro road bikes

Bit of both... think it's black over marooney purple but has been done nicely (and I've avoided doing too much damage over the years). Glad you like :)

    Mid 90s Harry Quinn

Cheers, I'd forgotten quite how pretty it was. The colour is a deep maroon with black either under or over, sort of smokey effect and it is in pretty good nick considering it was raced fairly heavily in all sorts of events between 95 and 99. Might drag it out for the local handicaps if I can get...

Let's see those retro road bikes

Here's a couple of my old race bike pulled from the loft and about to do duty again... fed up pluggin mud. One of the last Quinns made, I bought about 96 (I think), frame no 01245

Converting 12spoke Shamal to Shimano 10 speed

First post here (hi), so in at the deep end... Have some 12 spoke Shamals that I run on a Harry Quinn with Shimano 8 speed driveline (cassette has been spaced for this). Wanna update the bike and fancy going Shimano 10 speed, anyone know if this is possible? Think 8 to 10 Campag is ok and...
