Im probably one of the few that view the 98+ section the most. Currently modernizing a mid school Trek Top Fuel. For me the mid school era is super interesting as its the period where we saw the most drastic changes in mountain bikes.

Something i forgot to post yesterday... I offered up the rear brake caliper and discovered the lower hose guide was positioned really close to the disk mount meaning the hose would have far too tight of a bend in it and had to be forced into position to meet the guide. I really didn't like that...

Ahhh ok. I thought I saw a 4 piston version hence the confusion, must have been a newer XTR series. Can you share a link to your pinkbike profile so I can see more of that lovley bike? Cheers

Sounds about right 👍 985, 987 = XTR 'Race' 988 = XTR 'Trail' (4 piston caliper)

Bugger, my mistake. Mine are 985 😆 So I think that means 985 and 986 are non servo? And, the servo ones are 988? 🤷‍♂️ EDIT: Really nice bike btw :cool:

Theyr'e XTR M980 but I changed the lever blades to the carbon M9000 ones 🥰 Got one on eBay for silly cheap but the other had to come all the way from the states. Theyre both in really good condition

Wheels are only Mavic Crossride FTS-X, would love something nicer but what I have in mind is quite expensive! 😆 I hated the original decals so carefully removed them and cut out the smaller part of the decals and stuck that back on for a more stealthy look. Rotors are Formula 180mm front and...
