I'd really like to avoid posting. I don't drive so obtaining packing materials and dropping it off to be posted is tricky.

23.5" Early 80's Sun Solo 10 speed racer £80 reduced

I am not sure of the exact date of this bike but would say somewhere in the late 70's to early 80's. The bike is totally original with the exception of having a pair of brand new aluminium wheel, tyres and freewheel. The saddle has also been replaced with a modern looking one! The...

    Wanted: 24 spline freewheel extractor

Mike, That is a most kind offer. I've got past this now and have fitted a new freewheel to Bike1. Bike2 is happily running the old malliard freewheel.

    Wanted: 24 spline freewheel extractor

Thanks again TGR. I've actually got two bikes with these fitted. 1st bike has old chrome steel wheels, I've got a new freewheel on its way for the new rear wheel. 2nd bike, have cleaned up the freewheel. Freewheel removal is on hold for this. I was really hoping these things would be cheap.

    Wanted: 24 spline freewheel extractor

Thanks TGR, This is on hold at the moment as I have managed to clean it well enough without removing it. Looking online, I can pick up a new 5 cog freewheel AND tool for the price of that tool. Good find though !

    The most ordinary 1984 Peugeot

Came up with a rather un-elegant solution to the front forks brake block alignment issue. I crudely fabricated two drop brackets out of some ali bar, bolted them through the forks and bolted the caliper through below the fork crown. I also used some ali tube to act as a spacer so the drop...

    Wanted: 24 spline freewheel extractor

Thanks to everyone. I've sourced a few and they are all in the region of £20 to £25. Not worth it for something i'll only use once. A new cog set plus tool can be had for about £10. I'll take the wheel in if needs be and hopefully get it done for 'a drink'

    The most ordinary 1984 Peugeot

Got it built up and on the road. Was on a downer with whilst finishing off thinking I'd wasted time and money but having just taken it for a spin, I LIKE IT! The brakes are terrifying though! Can anyone advise what the options are in terms of improving them? Currently it has the Weinmann...

    The most ordinary 1984 Peugeot

Wish they were. As far as I can measure and as accurately measure the post, it is 24mm. I've done a bit of searching as well and from what I've discovered confirms it. I have read about the 23.4mm plus shims. Although not perfect I can live with the one I have, for now.

Brilliant video, love the bongo drums in the soundtrack. I know, the 24mm posts are rarer than a rare thing and cost accordingly.

Oooo...... You don't have a spare 24mm seat post  I wish I'd kept my original bike. Mine would be 29 years old now
