    Holdsworth Frame Numbering

Re: Just some further info to add. my Holdsworth frame and forks are no. 33156. As the frame had no decals when I bought it I subsequently sent lots of pictures and measurements to the VCC marque expert who identified it as a Holdsworth Mistral frame set, built in 1966. Not sure how this fits...

    Bottom Bracket Question

I would like to change my existing 'cup and cone' bottom bracket for a modern 'cartridge' type. I've dismantled it and the spindle has the following markings, on one side the Stronglight 'S' and the letter 'C' and opposite the numbers '5' and '18'. Can anyone tell me the meaning of these...

    SKS Track Pump Spares

Re: Hi Thanks for the replies. Flipped a coin and bought a new EVA head for my pump, but am having problems with it. It pumps up the tyre OK, but every time I loose loads of air when I remove it from the valve. Any tips? Thanks Paul

    SKS Track Pump Spares

I need a new head for my old SKS track pump. They are available as an "EVA Head" or a Multi Valve Head". I understand that the EVA head has one hole that accepts any type of valve, and the Multi Valve head has a different hole for different valve types. Can anyone recommend one or the other...

    Harry Quinn?

In reply to "Dirt Disciple" I've attached a photo of the bike pre paint job. It's not a very good picture (it's a scan of an old photograph), but you can make out the Harry Quinn decals plus what I am told are Reynolds 531 decals. Don't take too much notice of the other components as the bike...

    Harry Quinn?

Hi I have recently been given an old frame. It has been repainted with no decals, but I have a photograph of it pre-painting which shows Harry Quinn decals on the seat tube and top tube, and what are probably Reynolds decals near to the top of the forks and near to the top of the seat tube...

    A frame number question - 33156

Many thanks for the replies, and for OldTel I've attached are a couple of pictures of the bottom bracket and a couple of the fork steering tube. The numbers are about 6mm high and are much neater and clearer on the fork compared to the bottom bracket. Cheers

    A frame number question - 33156

This is a follow up to an earlier post: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=262628 I've been trying to identify a frame without 100% success so far. The frame resembles a Holdsworth, but I'm not sure. I bought the frame second hand in the late 1970s. It's geometry resembles a Holdsworth Mistral, has...

Frame ID Help Requied - Holdsworth Mistral maybe?

Thanks for all of the advice and links to pictures. I thought this would be easy, but is proving to be anything but. In my mind, the key seems to be the frame number. It's a simple five digit number with no prefixes etc. How may manufacturers had numbering systems like this? I think...

Frame ID Help Requied - Holdsworth Mistral maybe?

Hi Guys The seat post doesn't have any markings, so I've borrowed a vernier caliper and measured the post and I reckon it's 27.0mm. I've also just tried a 27.2 from another bike and it doesn't fit. Has anyone got any comments on the frame number (33156)? It seemed to fit the Holdsworth...

Frame ID Help Requied - Holdsworth Mistral maybe?

It's taken a while, but I've now stripped the 'dulux paint job' from the frame, and can confirm a few things. I bought the frame second hand in the late 1970s, when it had already been repainted. It has matching frame numbers, 33156, on the bottom bracket and forks. It also has the number 126...

Frame ID Help Requied - Holdsworth Mistral maybe?

Thanks for the comments. I think I must have been about 14/15 years old when I bought the secondhand frame, so that would make it about 1978. Regarding the 'pips' on the seat tube, I've assumed that they are cut off pump pegs, as there's also one just above the bottom bracket. I'll remove...

Frame ID Help Requied - Holdsworth Mistral maybe?

My first post on this amazing site, and a request for some help. I purchased this frame in the late 1970s, it was second hand, had already been re-sprayed and had no badges. Consequently I've never known anything about it. It's been in the garage and has been used a general hack for the...
