1980s (maybe '90s) bike ID and info please

Thanks Gigfy. Now I know that I'm after lightweight 5 hole chainrings 110mm BCD 48 38 28, but after a cursory glance on ebay and leboncoin I haven't managed to find owt. Where's a good place to buy (preferably secondhand, unless new aren't too dear) please? UK outlets are ok as I'll be visiting...

1980s (maybe '90s) bike ID and info please

Thanks once again. I'll look at buying separate rings, once I've measured the BCD tomorrow. In the meantime, would this https://www.leboncoin.fr/velos/2290574224.htm work as a complete set on my bike, and do you think it is a good buy? (Then I'll leave you in peace!)

Thanks Gigfy. I'm pretty sure I posted the link, so maybe it got removed, or perhaps I had an aberration. I'll try again :) https://www.leboncoin.fr/velos/2382426377.htm

That's really helpful, thanks. I have 28 on the cassette, so will try to match it. Apart from that, are those (that I sent the link for) the kind of chain rings you would recommend?

Hello again. Would you recommend something like this for new chain rings? My existing rings start at 28 teeth. It's very hilly round here, might changing to 30 prove to be a tooth too far?

1980s (maybe '90s) bike ID and info please

Thanks so much for all this detail. I've ordered the brake pads, and lubricated the freewheel which now works beautifully. My ignorance extends to chain rings too! What sort of thing could I look for please?

1980s (maybe '90s) bike ID and info please

Thanks for all of your help and ideas everyone. I'm bowled over to see all of these responses, as I only got an email notification for the first reply, and thought that there were no others. It feels good to learn more about my dear dad's bike. It is a big bike, although Dad was under 6', he...
