    Stolen Stumpjumper (Cambridge)

I didn't know about OWL -- thanks! On the whole Cambridge seems to have rather more that it's fair share of sticky-fingered people -- or they seem to be really very attracted to me. I'm beginning to think that it's time to move somewhere else! As for insurance it was locked up and locked...

    Stolen Stumpjumper (Cambridge)

That's almost the worst of it that they want so little money. Good idea about a lock -- I can't say that I'd have ever thought of that!

    Stolen Stumpjumper (Cambridge)

Thank-you to everyone for thoughts, help etc. Thanks for the offer, if it's anywhere near 17" do you mind if I sit on the offer for a week or so while I see if anyone's silly enough to actually try to sell my bike? I have to admit though that I was rather hoping that the karma would be of the...

    Stolen Stumpjumper (Cambridge)

Almost but not quite, there was a model down from it with a steel frame and some parts swapped out for LX (unfortunately I couldn't afford the M2 frames at the time!). It possible it wasn't offered in all markets (actually, I did see that someone had posted a 1997 price list for Germany...

    Stolen Stumpjumper (Cambridge)

Hi, My 1997 green steel Specialized Stumpjumper has been stolen from a communal locked area outside my flat in Cambridge (nr York St) last night or early this morning (15/11/2011). Given that I brought this bike new and in the intervening period have covered a fair proportion of the Alps...

    8-speed rapid-fire shifters (1997ish, poss spares/repairs)

I'm currently on the look-out for some replacement 8-speed rapid-fire shifters. I've currently got a set of SL-M569 (97 LX shifters, no brakes), but on the right-hand shifter the 'up' trigger has stopped springing forward. Arguably my own incompetence has something to do with this :roll...

    WANTED: 8 speed freehub body

I'm afraid I don't have one to hand, but recently had to replace my freehub on a '97 parallax hub w/ 8spd cassette and got a new one off an LX M585 rear hub (which cost me £14 from chain-reaction - I'm sorry I'm not considered responsible enough to post a link).
