    Condor No2 - Bill Hurlow 1959.

Re: Hi RK, yes indeed, I believe Condor always had quality builders doing the top line frames, with the lower ones still being well sourced, some from Italy and you are right there are gaps, and there is no reason Roberts couldn't of built some, the only documented builders are Mr Hurlow...

    Condor No2 - Bill Hurlow 1959.

Re: Hi, lovely frame, a good buy as well, I have two condors from around this time, one has been restored and the other still original and looking at your frame everything looks right, except for the seat lug as pointed out, but surely this could of been a good repair from someone who knows...

    Mystery 1920s 30s bike

Re: Hi, it looks a tricky one, as standard frame fittings didn't change much thru the 30's, I would look to the dropout, it has a cutout, so that sort of points to mid - late thirties. It is the only thing I can see to assist. Thanks Terry

    R.O Harrison . Age Required . Challenge

Re: Hi, as Keith points out the Nervex lugs point to later, I believe the first digit is the month and the second is the year, therefore April 1959, this must of been one of the last, its the oldest one I've seen. Terry

    1930's ? F W Evans lightweight tourer info wanted

Re: Hi, looks nice, I know number 6000ish is 1946, so early/mid 30's looks right ( I presume the serial number is on the seat lug ), looks in good nick. Thanks Terry

    Help identify this bike

Re: Hi, I can only offer a possible clue, I own an Elvish, a respected seller/builder from Pau, they did produce a lot of bikes, and have a long history. The serial number of my late 60's mid range Elvish https://www.flickr.com/photos/tk_photos ... 1390389863 that needs a tidy, is in the...

    Macleans

    Holdsworth Professional Track Frame?

Re: Hi, Thanks for the feedback Doug, Yes indeed the hole spacing is there about's for a Holdsworth Badge, and I found this http://www.classicrendezvous.com/Britis ... index.html which is 18 numbers away, and looks identical, so I'm 95% there as far as its identity is concerned. I believe Roy...

    Holdsworth Professional Track Frame?

Re: Hi, sorry for dragging an old thread up, but I have just acquired a Roy Thame that with further investigation, I am starting to think it is a 1970'ish Holdsworth Pro, I do love a wrapover stay, details can be found at https://www.flickr.com/photos/tk_photos ... 598673802/ , any thoughts...

    Hurlow, Holdsworth or Mal Rees?

Re: Hi, it has Bill Hurlow written all over it, it looks like a 1961 Condor Superbe, Condor will confirm, but serial number and lugs look to be, an example can be found here http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/bi ... ey-rb.html. Very nice, show it once done. Terry

    Saxon Twin Tube

Re: Hi Kelvin, it is firstly in the wrong section as it is a road bike, but it is a rare 1953 ( serial number ) Claud Butler built Saxon, which as you point out is in good 'upgraded' condition. The market is narrow, and it probably would go to a collector, I would love it, but the price would...

    Legless or lugged?

Re: Hi, sounds an interesting frame, pictures would be nice. One of the advantages of a lugless frame is flexible ( I don't mean frame rigidity :D ) frame angles, after the war we must presume lugsets were limited, and mainly pre war, the trends were for more upright angles ( exotic...

    La Perle Project

Re: Hi, lovely bike, keep going it looks worth the effort. French threads are a law to them selves, they did become more mainstream from the late 50's onwards but before that it was regional thing as far as standards were concerned. So, where does this leave you, what are the bearings, I...

    Old English bike, but what?

Re: Hi, nice frame, on the good side of the norm, with your serial numbers, are you looking at the right numbers, I would of said it was 4 digit and and starting with 51 which aligns with the early nervex pro lug set. The '9' doesn't seem too be the same stamp set. Just some thoughts Terry

RBotM NOVEMBER 2018 - OPEN MONTH - ENTRIES NOW OPEN!

Re: Hi, thought I would put my A J Hodge ( Luton ) into the ring. It is, I believe 1937, with lovely period chrome handlebars, Simplex Champion du Monde gearing, Lam brakes and a lovely Nicklin crank, yes, I said Nicklin, you live and learn. Wheels are later with Weinman rims, 26 x 1 1/4 of...

    Y.O.M for P. Barnard & Son?

Re: Hi, the snippet I have is below, there were no decals the previous owner just had them done I believe, he may of seen them on another Barnard, as the head badge is an painted attempt at the decal, which isn't perfect but it adds a certain charm. I will add a photo of it to my Flickr group...

    Y.O.M for P. Barnard & Son?

Re: Hi, at a guess I would say yours is later than mine, there is an auction reference about a 1935 PB having a serial number of 249 in 2012, so mine ( link below for a couple of pictures) looks like just post war at a guess, your BB appears to be later as well, it also has a derailleur braze...
