Discovering this site is a big part of why I own this bike so I thought I would post some pics here... Complete XT build right down to the pedals. All original except the saddle, fitted a black Turbo since the pics were taken.

    Why Old Bikes ?

Road bikes have been around for ever and what is considered a mountain bike has only been around for a relatively short period of time. Before the eighties mtb's were basically customs, hand built and expensive or modified klunkerz. Once mtb's started being built with the same exacting...

    has everyone lost the passion?

Passion? Still alive and well.. http://urbanvelo.org/nahbs-2009-day-1/#more-6617 The reason mountain bikes are the techno wonders that they now are is simple and it's always has been this way in this part of the world. What wins races on Sunday sells on Monday. There is no other form of...

    Team Miyata

My 1990 50cm Miyata Team. Ideally I ride 52cm bikes so it shows more seat post than what would be considered normal for a more traditional geometry frame. I like the bike enough not to care too much. Nitto bar and 3T stem, DA brake levers Shimano 600 headset and brakes...

    Singlespeed tribulations

I seem to spend a great deal of time wondering what it would be like to single speed my geared bikes. I have the most fun on single speed bikes. Actually I think 2 gears on a mountain bike is about right. One gear to get you to the trail head and the other gear once you arrive. Without the...
