Hi, got it, have just cleaned it, pumped up the tyres and thats it! there is almost no wear, just some scratches, rust spots. The chainrings have no marking etc, so very little miles. I think it was used for a year or a summer and then put in the garage and has sat there. Tempted to...

wheels hi, they are from the neighbour who was chucking them out, what was important that the rear is a 130 mm axle and screw on cassette. it was a cheap rebuild.

Well here it is, with re homed wheels, reused tyres, new cables and blocks, two chains bolted together as the wheelbase is so long and new pedals. about £20. How does it ride? like a long thing, its 6ft plus long, great on a descent, bit of a barge on singletrack, gearing of 39 tooth and six...

Hi, does anyone know if or where to get spares for the above fork; i think i need new seals. the fork feels a bit wobbly when under braking. also the infernally rubbish elastomer adjuster on the right leg. any thoughts? cheers simon

cheers, it does look good on test i have done, nice sparkly bits! its nice to get them going rather than sitting around, i am on long term sick at present. will the paint stick well onto it; i remeber stories of the early cannondales and dont want to repeat that look. s

hi, is smooth hammerite any good as a cheap finish? is it stickable to aluminium. i have some black, but am tempted by british racing green hammerite! i am piecing together two old bikes from bits and pieces; no monetary value. i would sooner spend the money on my 15 year old daily...

130mm hi cheers, i am trying to find the best way to get an old 1986 ish dawes back on the trails. still have the wheel, but axle snapped. will need to get rusty freewheel off and then rebuild which maybe more expensive! the back wheel feels heavier than some bikes! s

nuts its nuts, that does take me back! could i put in a quick release axle? would i need to remove the screw on freewheel to put the axle in? cheers simon

Saddle Just had a look, no date, its a Selle Royal. Is it of any monetary value? I want to just rub it down, black hammerite it and get the thing riding; budget is non existant; just enough to get some brake blocks and pedals! i cant wait to turn up for the sunday ride on it and pitch it...

Dawes hi, it has both 531 fork and frame, wheels are a mismash, not sure if they are even original. on that note, its a 130 mm rear, can i get a 135 mm rear wheel in there? this is going to be a cheap restoration! s
