just found an adaptor for the frot so defo have that.

Do you know if you can use/buy a shim so the front mech can be used on a 28.6mm frame?? If so, then I'll have it. And the rear mech, can it be used with 3x8 spd or do I need a long cage?? If OK I'll have this as well.

Great thanks. It has an A-Head then and I would need a steerer of about 205mm (lower bearing cup to top of stem). I did change the rear mech to a Deore a couple of years ago and also ditched the twist grips for a low end rapid fire, so I think I need to look at getting something like XT...

I am on the verge of dumping my old steed just because it is old, feels a bit sluggish and doesn't have bouncy forks so makes my arms itch when going down bumpy tracks! A friend has offered me a Giant XTC frame but this will still cost a bit to get up to spec and the Sunn has been a great bike...
