Could anyone give rough estimate on how much these are worth (or indeed if its worth even bothering with trying to sell). All parts are used:
M739 rear mech
M739 rapidfire+ (slightly bent LH brakelever)
M739 V brakes (with noodles)
M739 chainset 175mm
M739 hubs on Mavic X221 rims, DT Swiss...
£700 is rather outside my expectation. A quick look on this site shows that an entire bike (complete with LX/XT and '94 RC35 forks) was advertised for £375 last year: https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/a-brace-of-bigfoot-smokestones.407555/
Good luck with the sale
I’ve been looking for one of these for years, mine was stolen in 1998. I’d be interested in the frame only but would take the whole bike if cheap, I’d then strip and sell the parts on (always best to be honest).
Value is difficult, I can’t remember the last time one came up for sale, they are...
Thanks everyone, alas the good wife has vetoed the idea and told me to think again.
I will likely wait a while and sneak a few things in.
Thanks everyone who offered :-)
Morning,
So my garage is finally close to completion and I want to decorate it with bike stuff.
Does anyone have any possibly cracked or broken frames that look good enough visually and are cheap?
Cheers
Re:
Actually, frame says 'sold pending payment', hoping that's not the case!
I had an Ozone CO2 once, it was stolen in 1998, would love to have one back...
Anyone?
Something from late '90s / early 2000's would be great, I'm not too fussy about the colour but a friend had a F700 from 1996/7 in a gorgeous purple colour, that would be the ideal!
Thanks, TT
Pretty certain I owned this frame, it was offered as a prize in MTB Pro and I bought it from the winner for £450. I say he won it, he was a cycling journalist so sounded a bit iffy to me! I worked all summer at a local fruit farm to pay for a fairly budget build of mainly LX with Control Tech...
A friend had one of these BITD, I remember being shocked at the way it climbed. You could feel the rear end digging in under hard pedalling, his was in a terrible state though!
