I've contacted Michael@Orange to see what he knows. Lets wait and see.. Does anyone know what sort of performance difference there would be between the cantilever brakes and v-brakes, if I were to restore them to original spec? I think it's sad to have those brackets there on the frame...

Anthony - I can't find any serial number on the frame. If I were to go back to the cantilever brakes, would there be a performance drop from the XT I have at moment? I was thinking. If I wanted to preserve the original decals, as they are, does anyone know any light lacquer or sacrificial...

The chainstays are rounded. I'll check the frame for a code. Does anyone know what sort of brakes would have used the built-in mounts at the front and back? I'd like to put them back in action.

Thanks, but if only it was.. that hub on eBay looks like a non splined hub... Maybe i should give this search up and retire to a bizarre rear disk / front v-brake setup???

was wondering if you'd found any of those splined hope hubs? i'm in a bit of a spot where i have a pace evo '98 fork that, with its disk adapter, only accepts the splined hub... if you'd made some research and found a place that may have one then maybe you could let me know.. many thanks...
