Just repainted and stickered a 1995 Kona Kilauea 19"

It shifts really well! I've had it on fairly steep hills and it shifts under load with no issues.

Just repainted and stickered a 1995 Kona Kilauea 19"

This particular 19" Kona Kilauea was so abused and parts swapped out already when I got it that sourcing original parts just didn't seem like the way to go. I did reuse the crank and the seat post collar and still have the 8 speed and 3x rings and deraillier in the parts bin for other projects...

Just repainted and stickered a 1995 Kona Kilauea 19"

Took everyone's advise and waited a full week before assembling. Gave it a light compounding and wax too. Not perfect but looks great from 3 feet away! Here's the finished product. Don't hate me for mixing retro with new parts from the bin. She weighs in at 23 lbs including the OneUp flat...

Picked up a GT Timberline - '97 maybe?

Measured it and it is a 16" (BB to center of top tube). Yes, has the Avid 20s V brakes, Avid AD -1.0L levers, STX-RC rear derailleur, Shimano A front derailleur, Suntour XR300 crank, STX-RC 8S Paralax rear hub, GT front hub, and ZAC 19 wheels front and back. I think it's completely original...

Picked up a GT Timberline - '97 maybe?

Picked up a GT Timberline today for $50! All it needed was a rear derailleur cable/housing, a bath, and it's back to road ready. A little too small for me. I'm thinking it's a 17.5 or so? Check out the three color Rock Ring, original tires and embroidered WTB saddle! Had a vintage Cat Eye...

Just repainted and stickered a 1995 Kona Kilauea 19"

Haha! Yeah, my wife has a seriously strong kangaroo phobia. Figured I'd help her out and get her a stuffed Mother and Joey for Christmas so she can work on it!

Just repainted and stickered a 1995 Kona Kilauea 19"

Bike was very rough when I got it last month. Looks fairly good for an automotive rattle can paint job. Wet sanded down to metal 80%, two coats primer, 2 coats pearl white, stickers, then three light coats clearcoat. Used Dupli-color lacquer. Waiting 48 hours and maybe will wax with a light...

Catamount - Guide Series? Anyone seen one of these before?

I could buy this Catamount "Guide Series" for $100. I don't think it is made by the FS Catamount Cycles company (as the logo does not match) but maybe it's an early one? Anyone have any ideas? It's cantilever brakes and grip shifters so it seems to be the right era?
