How do they compare lengthwise to other shoes? I usually take size 8 but some size 43 Shimano shoes are too short 🤷🏻‍♂️

Nice loop from home, via Ringwood, Moors Valley Country Park and Cranborne. 40 miles - I am really not used to that mileage, the last climb back out of the Avon valley to home was hard. First ride with loop bars - I really like them. (On the downs near Cranborne.)

It makes me think of a kid's drawing of a bike where you can't work out which way up the picture should be.

Reminds me of the spaghetti-and-marshmallow towers I used to get my physics students to build. About as rigid, I reckon.

The effective rolling diameter is less than the figure you've arrived at, because the tyre compresses. If you want to do it that way, maybe you could sit on the bike and measure from the axle to the floor? Or get a bike computer that uses GPS - though probably not for £4.50 :)

Bike stuff: strip and repaint the Merlin Malt and Harry Hall frames, and use the lessons learned doing the same on the Pine Mountain. Summer for me is more about reenactment events than cycling.

Thanks for the reply, but I suspect that anything Hope is more that I wanted to spend. I was thinking more about bog standard Shimano or similar.

I have some RST Mozo Pro forks that I got out of the parts pile to use, but the brace has cracked by one of the three mounting points, same place on both fork legs: Given that there are three pointing points, would you use these? I'm fairly light and not a hooligan. The forks still work well...

I've realised the hub is scrap on the wheel I fitted to the Voodoo recently, so I'm after a replacement. Needs to fit Shimano-type 9spd cassette and six-bolt disc, other than that I don't care what it is 🙂 Anything going? I'm near Salisbury (and heading to Cornwall the last weekend of this month).
