Wildgrippers ... attached to a Fire Mountain & Hahanna

You know when you're skipping through eBay and then something jumps out. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kona-Fire-Mo ... SwHeVf1l86 A pair of very dry Wildgrippers in I guess what was Biscuit or Butterscotch (colourblind) attached to a small Fire Mountain. If they were closer I'd be tempted to see...

    Sold NOS Tyres

Re: NOS Tioga Psycho Tyres Is it possible my Marin's tyres are worth more than my bouncy bikes ;) ... and it's a almost new Mr Dirt on the Cannondale... took it off the Explosif on first day forgot about it for 25 years

    My Bouncy Bikes

I spend more time fussing about my Kona's but these two are under appreciated in the garage. The Marin is a real workhorse that has required hardly any fettling and just works. The Cannondale was gifted to my son by a generous neighbour as he knew we'd look after it. It's a great bike but the...

Bargain Gary Fisher ... which I didn't actually 'need'

Re: Re: Thanks... '95 is bang one and yes they "squidge" more than "bounce".

Bargain Gary Fisher ... which I didn't actually 'need'

... but then do any of us actually need another retro MTB. I saw Gary (as he's now known) on eBay and my £75 cheeky bid to collect now was accepted. I did have an evil plan to use him as a donor for my '95 Explosif as the SRT800s, SUP-217s on XT hubs are in much, much better condition than the...

StRumpjumper ... you read in right !

Yes the StRumpjumper is the little known badly spelt version of the Stumpy. It's in my favourite colour with XTR bits, wigglely spokes, over-priced (IMHO) and a touch small for me. For some reason black paint around the seat tube which I'd guess is evidence of an alloy post glued into chromoly...

    92 Lava Dome - can't decide

Thanks for the replies. I've decided to go for a budget build which means keeping the blue and the surf dude stickers (which I'm not). The plan is to try and tidy the garage and put on the Lava Dome whatever I find in the process. So far I've found the original rear & front mechs, the cranks...

    92 Lava Dome - can't decide

Hidden under the rattle can paint job and my bad attempt to make her look like a '95 Cinder Cone is my original '92 Lava Dome. Currently weighing up the original vs personalised. Watch this space....

    Nice 1" Quill Stem

I'm sure I've a Zoom Original polished alloy one in the garage somewhere. Not sure of exact length but I'll dig it out if its of interest.

Be quick, Pro-flex w.Girvin fork £80 BIN Warwick

    95 Kona Explosif

Owned an identical bike since new - still rolling in pretty worn out but original condition. So looking forward to seeing your progress as I need to begin my rolling rebuild at some point. Good luck.

    BoTM December 2011- Vote NOW!

If it wasn't for a 1990 Cindercone I wouldn't be into MTBs - no contest

    Kona's page

Not quite finished, and yes there's a Rockhopper somewhere with mising bits. Also not sure if I'll fit grips because I'm enjoying how light she feels  [/img]

    Zinn on ebay

I thought about bidding and then breaking it for spares .... maybe mix and match a few bits from the '92 Lava Dome, fit some riser bars with bar-ends, a suspension seat post from Halfords, bike hut pedals, my old Rock Shox Indys would look good & a rattle can re-spray with period Saracen...
