A mate has just given me his old racer a Raleigh Elan 501 Reynolds frame. I took it on a 19mile ride just to see if it was rideable and it sure is. A few creaks and stuff but it got me home. sadly i had to sell it as i just couldn't get along with it, but it has gone to a good home someone that actually built this model of bike at the factory so couldn't wish for a better home. i have in the meantime a hybrid trek 7200. Ideally i would like to do up an old racer, so i am always on...

yes mate you can dibs it. as you can see from the photos on flickr its not in bad condition at all, few scuffs etc and the seat has a small rip but its a nice bike, just a shame its a tad small for me

ok the bike is too small for me so I am selling her. the only thing I have changed is the bar ( which some of you saw on my other post) this bike has some scuffs etc, but is in overall good condition imho link to loads of photos >...

new bars fitted, I am going to take her out today to see if i can get used to her.

i changed the bars now im just looking for some grips as the others are too short due to being cut down and i think the rest will remain as is
