Hi @Walterscot Thread above is my MT Becane or was as I offloaded it as although rideable the frame was just too big.....I liked the handlebars, reminded me of back in the day adding BMX bars to my bomber for that kind of vibe. The catalog spec were a handy thing to see. Looks like a nice one...

I've never seen something so white off the shelf....would work well with a massive coke habit or in alaska...

Ok, while not mountain bikes as such, clearly up a mountain and must have been rough going back then... Also check out the grandfather of slingshot frames 2nd from the right! And the pegs on the front forks for downhill speeding as assume these are fixed gears.... Like racing pretty sure as...

Its been on a while, the seller is a nice guy. Maybe another sign the market has slowed. maybe the ize is off-putting. Lovely bike though and that money wouldn't get you same quality new.

The original 'Ridgeback' model MTB......circa 1983. Theres a whole thread (or two) on here about the early Ridgebacks etc.

See they opted for less crazy hadlebars for those comedy races..... What a cool bike. I had a weird Kawazaki full sus BMX thing for a while in the early 80's that also sapped all your forward momentum, but was fun on the 'ups and downs' in the woods after school.

Its definitley an orginal MF Araya framed Rambler. the early MF and S&G cycles had those stamped Araya logos & serial numbers as think they were just rebranded here as MFs...as this pic demonsates, basically the same bike. The decals might be something to do with it supposedly being a press...

Most interesting aspect is the sloped fork crown.....

The kind of thing I would have bought a couple of years ago if it was half the price.....possibly interesting history, but then again possibly not. guessing Rambler '84/85ish by the decals & forks. nice spec with Kaskimax saddle etc...
