tooling could be an issue as well. You need a few specialist tools to take things apart and put them back together again but as time goes on that list could be endless. And also some jobs that you may find yourself having to do on older bikes that need fixing can be a lkot of money. I'm...

Tonight I am crying into my tea!!

Had a little think about this after all the advice and think I may have a go it myself  My thought process is that if I run a straight edge along the head and seat tubes out past the dropouts this will give me a reference point to measure to. If one side is dramatically different...

Tonight I am crying into my tea!!

To be honest Andy I'm can't remember, It's been stored on a filing store at work for about the last 8 years with the wheels off. I got it down and stripped it to send for powder coating and never checked. I'm hoping it'll just need a tweak from being dropped or something. I can't say wether...

Tonight I am crying into my tea!!

Advice from the retrobiker collective mind please (Again!!) The reason I'm crying is because I've just realised my dropouts appear to be bent, at least I hope it's just the drop outs. Not sure how it's happened wether in storage for the last 8 years or at the powder coaters but the wheels...

    Compatability question?

sorted thanks Had a slight issue with the lock ring not engaging but this was solved by removing some burrs that had devolped on the old spacer.

    Compatability question?

Yep it's 11-28. I had the spacer but I think I may have put it in the wrong place. Will try again tonight. Cassette to freehub grease or no grease? I always thought grease but I just swapped one on a fairly high end DH bike and it was dry.
