Wanted: turquoise Ringle stem, bottle cage, seat post

I have a 1994 Specialized Stumpjumper FS (steel frame) with a lot of Ringle components in turquoise and I would like to complete the look by swapping the stem and seat post. Not too picky on stem length and angle. Please respond here or send a message with what you have.

1994 S-works frame, just picked up

I found this on craigslist from a tip from an eagle eyed vintage mountain bike friend! Now I need to get educated on what I have. It was advertised as a 1995 but frame serial number starts with 94. I have a 1994 Stumpjumper FS steel and I was thinking I might want to swap components over to...

Assembly help or diagram for 1994 Stumpjumper headset?

I had this bike shipped to me and can't remember how the headset is supposed to go back together. Is there an exploded diagram of where the C-clip goes and the order of the other components?

1994 Specialized Stumpjumper FS (Olive green)

Excellent, it's my bike as it was when I bought it new (and before I went crazy with modifications)! 19" and everything just like mine, very cool to see, thanks.

1995 Steel Stumpjumper FS, sympathetic resto

Overdue update. The Futureshock was really shot, so HippieTech suspension built me a Judy (XC body with SL internals and modern upgrades). Then I swapped in LX rapidfire shifters and brake levers thanks to a forum member here, new chain rings, 7 speed cassette, new cables and tune-up, and a...

    Shimano FAQ for dummies

Bumping what has become my Shimano questions thread with another one, this time on my 1995 Stumpjumper everyday rider project. (thread is here: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... 82c92ae45a) It has the original 1995 XT rear derailer and the grip shift 800 shifters, which are...

Scott Neva full suspension bike frame

A brand new yellow frame Scott Neva showed up on the local classifieds, anyone ever see one of these before? I am not a buyer, just curious. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ank/b ... 52604.html

Out of a timewarp: how to ease into buying modern?

There is a Scott Spark RC, 2010 model for sale locally which is over the top in terms of what I "need" but damn, the bike listed for $7500 new! I might go look at it for kicks but it is a bit above the $2k limit. Just got back from a ride with my wife and we rented her a small trek Mamba...

Out of a timewarp: how to ease into buying modern?

More great input, thanks guys. Definitely excellent advice on looking 2-3 year old bikes to ease my way in and probably get an excellent deal because bikes depreciate so much and so quickly!

Out of a timewarp: how to ease into buying modern?

Thanks guys, I'll take that advice to heart. I'm thinking of demoing/renting some modern bikes to test out on the local trails. My riding is medium technical single-track mostly, not too many jumps or dropoffs. Just winding through the woods, moderate climbs and rocks/tree roots. My budget...

    Blue vintage skewers, titanium preferred

I put non quick-release skewers on my bike many years ago, would like to switch back now. Looking for blue color to match other bits on my bike. No preference on brand, Ringle would be cool, Synchros, etc. Pm me with what you have to offer. Fitment is for a 1994 Specialized Stumpjumper...

Out of a timewarp: how to ease into buying modern?

Since this forum seems like a bunch of good eggs, and a group I'm more likely to trust since you all "get" my affinity for my old mountain bike, I figured I'd ask here. My bike that I still ride (I'm the original owner) is a 1994 Specialized Stumpjumper FS and although I still enjoy riding it...

Ringle super bubba rear hub, 7 to 8spd?

Thanks guys, hopefully these pics help with the recommendation if the 8spd conversion is doable for me or not.

Ringle super bubba rear hub, 7 to 8spd?

How do I know if my Ringle super duper bubba whatever it is called rear hub can do 8spd? (Or even 9spd). My 94 Stumpjumper came with an Lx 7spd cassette when new so when I built this wheel set using Ringle hubs around 1996 I stuck with 7spd. I can post a picture if that helps.

    Shimano FAQ for dummies

OK, bumping this thread to clarify what I have currently. This isn't the original derailer for my bike (a 1994 Stumpjumper FS) as I replaced with this XT version around 1996. Seems to fit as this is a FD-M739 (read the model # off the unit) which seems to fit when I recall upgrading to this XT...

    Shimano FAQ for dummies

That is a great help, I think I can visualize pretty well plus there are a lot of great photos on this site. Thanks for taking the time to type that out, I have some more research and education to do now but this will help me tremendously.

    Shimano FAQ for dummies

Thanks, very helpful. What does mid cage/long cage on the rear derailer mean and the swing mean for the front derailer? Not sure which would have come on my 1994 Stumpjumper.

    Shimano FAQ for dummies

I've searched this site and been reading up quite a bit, but I still am a newbie when it comes to Shimano part numbers and what the part #'s mean (and for what application). Long cage, mid cage, etc on rear derailers, and the numbers on parts like: ST-M951 ST-SS95 For shifter/brake...

Opinions: convert my Machine Tech canti's to v-brakes?

Yep all opinions here are welcome, that's why I asked. Thanks everyone, now if I just clarify any hangups like possibly the mounting for the brakes on my Judy XC, then I can go forth and find a set.
