Re: It's very nostalgic. I had loads of catalogues back then and the 1989 Saracen catalogue really jumped out as being of a new design style. Loved the graphics, still do, and the layout was interesting. There wasn't a Saracen dealer near me so it never happened.

Re: It would be great to know how many they really sold. There's someone, somewhere with a big nose who knows. It was really ahead of its time, and it's arguably more relevant now than any other model in the lineup. Gravel bike? Adventure bike?

Re: Talking of wheelie machines, it's not retro but my singular puffin loves to lift its front end, despite the heft. It's great fun. I find my 1989 Marin quite hard to lift, but hoping a new Saracen with shorter chainstays might help.

Re: Still trying to learn at 46. Every now and then I get the balance point but I'm so shocked I fall off. Still trying to bunny hop properly too. I can do endos though, always have been able to. Seems more scary thinking about it.

Re: Like the photos. Video still in pre-production. Strangely my KOOL stop canti pads are not looking any worse for wear. Last time I got through two sets of Shimano pads in one ride. Cantis aren't that bad after all with the right pads! Haven't checked the rims though, maybe they've worn...
