    Cannondale Martin Ashton Trials Bike....£2,000!!!!!

he has done some shady replacements of parts though if he is indeed the original owner, which I i dont think he is. a cheap D521 on deore hub wheelset, zee cranks and rear mech, deore vee brakes, bars and stem, none of which suits the bike. i think the later of your comment falls true!

    Is it azonic or not?

    Planet X Jack Flash build

Small update….forks arrived today. Nice Z1 BAMs in yellow. Note this is not the colour scheme I am going for, just so happens everything sees to be yellow! I will assemble everything, see how it rides and then probably respray the frame and forks, with the forks being the traditional orange for...

    Cannondale M700 @ Eastbourne

Found this bargain on eBay, shame I’m not closer otherwise I would snap it up. Worth it just for the middleburn cranks and manitou forks etc. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cannondale-M700-retro-bike-/384645953523?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0

    Sellers regret?

I know its not retro, but my most recent commuter bike (sold due to lock down and not using, and used my main hardtail more) was a 29er rigid On-One Inbred which rode really nicely, both commuting and ragging it through the forest. It also had an old rear hope bulb hub in gold that i owned since...

    Tyre options (or lack thereof)

I am going through the same pain, although have found them here https://www.merlincycles.com/schwalbe-nobby-nic-performance-addix-wired-mtb-tyre-26-240524.html I am scouring Facebook market place for seconds from people who have ditched 26” in favour of 275/29.

    Planet X Jack Flash build

I decided I wanted a trusty jump bike in the fleet as I miss a bit of jumping. I was originally after a Santa Cruz Chameleon in small, as a picture in an old 2001 MBUK mag got me hooked, however the Jack Flash popped up on eBay just down the road from me for cheap so though why not! Not sure of...

Wanted Marzocchi Z3/Z1 forks, bolt on brace era. QR preferably.

Hi, I am after a set of Z3 or Z1 forks with the bolt on brace. I am keeping my eye on ebay, however has anyone got a set they are willing to part ways for on here? Not fussed on colour or condition as i will re-spray anyway. As long as they are working, and maybe need a service thats fine. Cheers.

My medium sized Pole (Ooh mother!)

Looks very nice, hoe do you find the playfulness of the bike (hopping, manualing etc?). I had a pretty long slack hard tail, a Production Privee Shan GT 29er and it was very fast going down and through the rough stuff, but it wasnt as playful and didint jump as nicely as a lot of other previous...

    Hope bulb/xc/sport Freehub interchangeability

this was raised recently but for the Big un: https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/hope-big-un-help.438121/ The bulb, Big un, and XC hubs are all interchangable, it just comes down to material. not sure about the sport? is that an older one? Bulb and Bigun were supplied with titanium freehubs...

    1999 Cannondale F900

Yea it is surprisingly long for its age. I cam from a really long low slack hardtail and its still prety nimble. I would like to find a shorter stem though, something like a Thomson 1.5 and machine it out slightly to fit this. Just on the look out on Ebay.

im tempted, not sure the wife would apperciate another bike in the garage though but i am sure i couldhide it somehow! always fancied a little trials play thing to hone the trials skills. Howwww much?!

They are a thing for the taller riders such as basket ball players https://www.pinkbike.com/news/dirtysixer-make-lebron-james-a-custom-36-mountain-bike.html Given it’s the only other readily available size above 29er, unless you get a tyre company to custom make some rubber you’ve got no hope...

    PINKBIKE is exhausting...

I grew up riding mtb on BMX tracks, jumping and the techniques you learn from the track are transferable and when we started riding trails and downhill those techniques were invaluable. So few people who you meet riding can manual properly, pump the ground or hop around like we do as they never...

    Hope Big un help

Pro II will not fit. Any of the older steel ones would for the XC hub. from Pro II onwards they utilised a different Pawl design so none will work. I will see if i have a steel one around. I have a few Ti ones but i dont want to part with those TBH.
