Orange Orange Clockwork..... Hello Wold ranger; the dropouts are aluminium bonded into Columbus Thron legs (funny the things you remember, or *think* you remember (corrections accepted))........decal info still most welcome. I recall when I purchased the forks new they had 'Pace' in white...

My 1991? Orange Orange Clockwork Above is my 1991 Clockwork. It is a working bike, so very few period components have made it. However, still has a few original components as you may be able to see. Unfortunately the Pace RC30's need refinished as they where hammerited after rust appeared...

Controversial? Respray 1991 Clockwork or not?

Originality...... Stem, fork and saddle are all period! - that is, they were on the bike by 1994. It did have Dia Compe 986's with PC7's at one point, and Onza HO's at another.

Controversial? Respray 1991 Clockwork or not?

Apparently my 1991 CLockwork is an unusual colour. I like cycle touring and wildlife watching, so want a bike with a more stealthy colour. I've had it built as a retro-ish mountain bike for nearly 2 decades, but find myself using it less and less. Am I justified getting it resprayed matt black...

    Shocktech Fork Manual

    Help me date my Clockwork

Norn Ireland Agentorange, wasn't expecting to read a comment like that. The first incarnation of this bike spent about a decade being razzed about Clandeboye Estate and the Leadmines between Newtownards and Bangor. I lent it to a pal in Ards for a couple of years, retrieving it just before...

    Help me date my Clockwork

Frame number The frame is the colour it left the factory in, and I guess the first 3 might be a 9. I'll go check later after I've been out on my 1999 Gringo! Just having my pre ride cuppa and surf....... P.S. Just noticed your collection of bikes  8)

The MTB Introduce Yourself Here Thread IV

New arrival, second time round Hello, I joined in 2005 near the start of this site, and posted a grand total of once! I'm back because I'm about to rebuild my Clockwork in a form closer to its roots - currently has mudguards etc. I also have a 1999 Gringo, seen here in the wild...

    Ceramic Rims

My Ceramics I got a pair of Mavic 117 sup ceramics on STX RC hubs in about 1994, the front wheel has only just met its maker. The back lasted the lifespan of two 'ordinary' back wheels, the front probably six non-ceramics. In the end it wasn't braking smoothly as about a 1 inch long strip of...

    Help me date my Clockwork

I had two 'High Street' Mountain bikes before my first real one, an Orange Clockwork. Don't know what year that came from, but it died from a rusted in bottom bracket and a stuck seat tube, along with the fact it was full of rust. In about 2003 I bought a second hand replacement frame from...

    The 'Introduce Yourself Here' thread

Er......... Started MTBing in 1989, bought a bike for a £10 that had been sprayed white......including chain, tyres, saddle etc. In retrospect it had probably been stolen, although I trusted the guy I bought it from, probably due to my youthful ignorance. Was very cheap and dayglow...
