What tubing on Harry Quinn Q4786

Harry Quin rides again! I used an eighties Koga Miyata as a donor, so it has Shimano 600 Biopace now. Will have to replace the worn out rims and saddle.

What tubing on Harry Quinn Q4786

I found this Harry Quinn on ebay a while ago. The bearings were totally worn and it had different replacement parts so I decided to strip it. Serial is Q4786 so I suspect it's a proper Harry Quinn. Apart from the Walton Road decal (on head and seat tube) there are no other decals. Does anyone...

    Maillard rear hub axle replacement

I need to replace the axle in an old (80s) Maillard rear hub. The original is bent and not completely straight. Before ordering something that won't fit, I hope someone can tell me whether a standard axle will fit or that I will have to search for a Maillard one. I understand the bearings might...

Looking for info on my Harry Quinn

While working on the bike I found another decal I had overlooked: "A product of British Eagle Cycles, Newtown, Powys". So made in Britain after all. Apparantly, for a while Clements had bikes produced over there and badged them with Harry Quinn decals. It's an OK bike. Frame is decent...

    Eroica's coming to the UK

I agree 70 pounds is a bit steep. But there is a discount if you're over 65, which leaves me just ten years.

Looking for info on my Harry Quinn

Thanks. The power of the internet (Google Street View) allowed me to have a look at the house of the previous owner. Not the kind of place where you would expect a low budget bike. :D Anyway, based on the parts on the bike I think it's early eighties. I wonder if anyone ever seen a Harry Quinn...

Looking for info on my Harry Quinn

Thanks for solving this. As a non-Brit I didn't realize it's a post code. The bike has a decal "Supplied by C.B. Ransom" in Alton which is in the same area. Could mean the bike is older than 1984. We had the same post code marking craze over here, I still have my dad's bike with the post code...

Looking for info on my Harry Quinn

Hi, I'm a Dutch cyclist and new to this forum. I have an interest in British bikes (if the music's good, the bikes must be as well). Recently I ran into a Harry Quinn which is at my place now. I have some pictures at...
