Why not get it professionally resprayed (not too expensive) in the original colous.. you could have a real good un here. Is it a full bike - or just a frame?

WOW Terry.. that looks amazing.. How does it handle on the slopes. If its on old bike dont forget to change the tubes. I got a puncture at the weekend and then realised I hadn't changed the tubes in over 15 years. I was amazed they lasted the 2 runs i'd recently put on them.. 8)

Calling DARMTB Did you get the Solaris sorted.. If your stripping the bike down I'd be interested in the Pace forks. Your bike looks like a 42.5 (same as mine). Let me know if your getting rid and we can talk turkey..

I'd love to get an Odyssey - just because I had one years ago. but it would have to be the later one with the see through Dynatech transfers and NOT the black ones as seen on the earlier ones. Great bike and I'm sure I could find one lying abot somewhere needing some work..

Am I right in saying the MT3 is better than the MT4..mainly cause the MT4 has titanium chain stays and the mt3 does with cro-moly? I'm think of looking for an MT3 or an Odyssey to do up. I had an Odyssey years ago and it was nicked - though I got it back a few weeks later.

Hi Dar MTB Both Dnelson and I are based in Kildare.. a few weeks ago we headed to the dublin mountains and had a blast and going again this weekend. Dont know if you make it to Dublin at all to get out. The quantum is a fine machine, though it was a big decision to get one over the Ogre. It...

The Quantum in the pics above has just broken its Seat bolt on the frame. Is there a standard bolt that fits - my Ogre has a terrible Hex bolt holding the seat post in place. I cant seem to get a proper 5 mm allen key to fit..

i can,t get my rear wheel to sit central in the frame

Hey, Make sure the wheel is firmly placed in the 2 drop outs and pushed all the way home in the dropouts. If the wheel is still not centred one of 2 things are going on. 1) The wheel is not "Dished" to the frame and will require you to tighted the spokes on one side to "Pull" the wheel...

Hey Bikemeister, How do you know those guys - I'm guessing your based in Ireland? Yep John Beatty was the MD - so I didn't see him too often and I think Paddy was the Financial Director - he was a really nice guy and had a genuine interest in bikes and cycling in general. He often called down to...

Raleigh Dyna Tech appreciation and information thread

Hi Guys, I used to work in Raleigh Ireland and the simple reason for the failure of the Dynatech brand was the sheer number of broken frames we would get back. My job was changing over the broken frames to new frames - and it was a full time job for 2 people and that covers just the Irish...

I worked in Raleigh Ireland for a year back in 1992 and even I never seen a Voyager, I did see and encounter (Amazing looking bike) - It didnt sell because it had a campag groupset and most guys wanted Shimano. I took it for a ride in the car park, brough it back into the workshop and let it...

WOW BoJangle - that encounter looks amazing. and the mission takes me back too. Where did you come by the encounter? Cant beloeve it still has the original tyres on it too. You should try for a Oddssey for your next project. That would give you the full family. then start on the titanium models...

    Dyna Tech Ogre XT 1992

I've never had trouble - but I'm 5' 7 so short and light. I know of plenty of people who did have difficulty. when my frame was replaced under warranty in 1993- -they put the most awful bolt through the seat clamp to hold the seat in place. I see from later MT5 frame sets, there is a standard...
