    Framesets

Is this the same frame you posted in 2011? If so do you still have the bolt for the seat post cluster? Is the fork the same as I can't see the mudguard eyes, could just be the photo? I seem to remember that clip type headsets had a specific fork with slits in the threading. Do you have a 1 inch...

Wanted 21 / 22" pre 1958 path or track frame or bike

I have a 22" Holdsworth it probably dates from the early 80's from the frame number but is a very retro design. It has track rear ends with mudguard eyes, a round fork also with mudguard eyes the tubes are 531 plain gauge with 531 forks.Lots of clearance. I think it was retro design popular in...

when and how did your retro obsession start

Always been into bikes got my first racer an 18 inch falcon from Nicholson's of Dundee, the cock of the north, followed by a Peugeot pr10l, sold to my brother in law in a moment of poverty, still miss it. Had matching Holdsworths an Elan, stolen during the great Brechin budgie raid(in fairness...

    DAWES FOX

I have got a Dawes Fox, seems very original according to the catalogue in this thread. They are an unloved poor relation to the Dawes Galaxy, though looking at the specifications the frame seems to be a Galaxy without the Reynolds main tubes. The suicide brake levers are awful, though even the...

I have got some 8 speed campagnolo deep section wheels and 8 speed down tube shifters, will I need very shallow brake calipers? Was the bike set up with a single chainring up front? Have got a lovely stronglight pista crank that is 170mm.Maybe longer cranks would be suitable(longer for me) for a...

    Alves

Glad you have packed it well, it is going to a good home where it will be appreciated and loved. Any ideas on what to built it up with, got some Dura Ace wheels and bar end shifters and 8 speed mech, or got full Chorus 8 speed with brifters. Think I will need 165 ta cranks for that top tube, now...

TI Knowledge, Raleigh, Hercules, Sun Bike identification

I have a very simmilar frame, always thought it was a Rudge Pathfinder, think I have the later Grand Prix model as I have double braze on gear bosses, 2ba thread though. Until they bought Carlton Raleigh had a few Lenton variations. My frame has 24tpi threads on the fork and BB.

    Article on Raleigh Lenton series

Re: Raleigh Lenton Does anyone know if the Lentons had the Raleigh 26 tpi headset and bb thread. The base models did but the better ones didn't. I have a Lenton like frame, but with a non Raleigh fork possibly a Rudge Pathfinder, it has twin down tube brazeons so possibly a later grand prix. It...
